Bluetooth Question 2015 Sierra

I am the new owner of a Sierra 1500 All Terrain SLE only 12 days old. I have noticed something I consider odd with the Bluetooth operation with my Cell Phone. I have owned many other vehicles in the past 8 years with Bluetooth. Nissan Ford Toyota Dodge Ram Dodge challenger etc. This is the first vehicle that does not switch a bluetooth call to the phone while existing the vehicle. Ex. If I am in the middle of a call when I get to work and I turn off the truck and exit the truck the bluetooth audio is still coming through the truck , not the phone.) I have a Summing Galaxy Note 3 and Android 5.0 OS. Asked the Salesman and the Service Manager about this. They both said its normal you have to either hit the Talk button on the steering wheel or the handset button that appears on the touch screen when the vehicle is off. I call GM and they told me it should switch over automatically. How does it work with your 2014 or 2015 Sierra or Silverado? My Nephew has a 2014 Silverado and claims he has to manually switch a call every time he shuts of the vehicle. Any input would be a great help in chasing something odd IMHO . I can't honestly believe that GM vehicles Bluetooth doesn't automatically switch like all the other manufactures.

I will have to try it. I would think if you shut off the truck and open the door the call should switch back to the phone. like how the radio shuts off when you open the door.

Mine does the same thing. Same phone as well. Shut the truck off and it will keep streaming it to the truck until the call is ended, then it will put itself (the truck) into sleep mode

Mine does same thing and I use the iPhone6. Knowing this I just switch it over myself prior to exiting the vehicle.

I normally like to keep the truck running until the call is over anyways cause it's climate controlled and it's quiet on the inside lol

Ha...just experienced that yesterday. I exited my truck and noticed that I couldn't hear anything. I looked at my phone and it was still connected to my truck. I had to manually switch over to my phone.

Yes, same here and a bit annoying. I also have an issue of the radio auto-switching to my iPhone music library(via Bluetooth) every time I disconnect from a call. I can be listening to XM or FM and answer the phone call and as soon as I end the call, the radio starts playing from my music library.

Good to know and thanks for the replies GM customer support telling me it should switch over. Looks like they are wrong... It's a pain but Im glad there is nothing wrong with my truck. Thanks to all who replied!

Try calling sales person. They should know how it works. They do around here.

When you shut off the engine a screen should come up with a "handset" button. At least in my '15.5 Silverado and my gf's '14 Buick does. Just hit the button. I know it's an extra step, but it doesn't bug me

What is a '15.5? I didn't know there were changes that warrant the ".5". Or are you just trying to tell us that your truck is REALLY new?

Early '15 comes out in '14 and then sometimes people refer to vehicles made later in the year model year as a 15.5'. Usually after the start of the actual year.

Yeah I guess so. The reason people want to know that is usually if there were some problems with the first group they will have been remedied by mid-year. But ultimately you are correct.
