V6 with aftermarket muffler

Anyone put a Magnaflow or Flowmaster muffler on a V6...or any other brand? Just curious if you can get that deep throaty sound with the V6.

I owned a muffler shop for 17 years and I never heard a V6 or V10 that didn't sound like crap. It must be the uneven number of cylinders on each bank.

Ived owned a couple non V8 sports cars that sounded pretty good, depends on the exhaust tuning.

i have a v6 and chopped off the resonator and added a super 44. cold startups are sick as hell, pretty loud. when warm, its a quiet ride with minimal drone. you do experience a loud cabin when accelerating harder than average

Leave it stock, a lot of people (self included) look at loud vehicles about the same as we look at cars with rap music pounding out of them- a public nuisance.

When I'm driving on the road trying to listen to music or talk on the hands free and some guy drowns it out with his exhaust kit I'm not thinking, "Wow, what a powerful sounding truck. Only a real he-man could tame such a beast.".

I'm thinking, "Gee thanks for imposing some industrial racket into my life. Maybe tomorrow you can come up to my cabin and jack hammer some concrete while I hunt ducks, or park in front of my house tonight cranking some Eminem with the windows down while I'm trying to sleep."

Will never get the "loud car" thing for anyone but teenagers. (and I did it then too, actually ran my Camaro in HS with glass packs bolted on the headers, no exhaust behind until the cops made me run pipes)

well I appreciate your humor, however, there's a big difference from what you are explaining and what I and many others are doing or trying to do. I would never come to a stop light and gun it or rev it up while sitting at a light. I just want a nice deep rumble...do not want to be waking up the neighbors.

Unless you're going open headers on the 4.3, I don't think you'll get the sound I'm talking about Chevy15.

Think I'm officially old now. When I hear the cars that sound like funny cars at the dragstrip I just think,"WTH?! Why?!"

Nothing sounds better than a small block Chevy with 18" glasspacks... jmo
