Good point. Truck sits outside, and the Passenger's Side was South facing. That could be what's going on. I'll have to try and check the pressures in the evening, after it's been sitting for a couple of hours post-sundown.

Well, I traded out of the Sierra today and into the Silverado. I'm missing exactly what I thought I would - the red lighting on the dash versus the blue. It's far easier (for me, at least) to distinguish the DIC menu items that I'm scrolling through with the red color scheme versus the blue. It's pretty much impossible for me to tell what's highlighted and I'm already finding that it's a game of chance when scrolling through the choices.

Mark, as far as selection on the DIC screen...I have a Silvy and noticed a couple of subtleties that I thought I'd pass on...when you have the screen list showing (left button on steering wheel), you should see the letters on current selection in white and the others are blue. As you scroll down the list, the letters will change to white as you scroll. The white letters highlight the one you are selecting. There is also a blue outline that follows, but it can be hard to see.

I had trouble figuring out the selection at first, but looked closer at it while my truck was still in the garage in low light. Just thought it might help...nice truck!

Thanks for the info. I will definitely look closer to see if I can make better sense of it. It just seems that, for me anyhow, the color scheme in the Sierra is much easier to pick up on.

When you say "left button", I'm presuming you mean the left-pointing arrow of the group of buttons on the right side of the wheel?

As far as the outline - it almost seemed (the last time I tried looking closely) that the outline might have stayed either one behind or with the one that was currently selected.

I don't have much need to scroll through these much... Just a little frustrating when I do have to. I'm liking the truck overall, but not terribly impressed with the ride quality of the tires. I've removed the 4x4 stickers off of the bed. I think they look very out of place on this truck and take away from the look overall. To me, it looks much cleaner overall without them.

I might look into grabbing the 4x4 emblems that they use on the Sierra and put them on in front of the mirrors (like they do on the Sierra).

I SCROLL MAINLY TO USE THE FAVORITES FEATURE ON THE PHONE OPTION TO MAKE CALLS AND THEN BACK TO INFO

. Added my comments in all caps above. Mine is a 2WD and came with Contentals...changed to Michelins and ride and handling greatly improved. Good luck.

I've had good luck with Michelins in the past, would definitely consider them again. The Goodyears that I had on the Sierra were actually pretty nice. I'm surprised that these are transmitting so much more "road feel" than the others were. They're 18" and and the Sierra had 17" on it - that will play into it a little, but I can't believe it would make THIS much of a difference.

Just don't know that I can justify the expense of all new tires at this point with about zero confidence of being able to recover a significant portion of it by selling these as take-offs. 300 miles on the truck, so they're absolutely "like new".

Step up to Ltz and you will get more features, very happy with mine!

Don't want the LTZ... Don't like the projector bulbs. And there's nothing in the LTZ that interests me that I don't already have.

I said the same thing when I had the lt

Glad it worked out for you. I don't want the LTZ, and that won't change any time soon.

Congrats on the new truck, nice color.... It's funny that you were talking about putting the 4x4 emblem from the GMC on the Chevy, I just removed mine a couple weekends ago because they looked so outta place. I'm thinking maybe I'd remove the SLE from the tailgate and put one of the 4x4 emblems from the fender up there. I thought about putting the chevy stickers on the bed but decided I wasn't too keen on those either. I guess the only 4x4 that matters to me is the one on the dash!

Yeah... I'm sort of looking at it similarly... I don't really care whether the truck "advertises" that it's a 4x4 or not as long as it works when I need it. I doubt I'll put anything on, but I just thought the stickers looked so out of place. Everything else is "chrome" and raised lettering style, that was a red/white/black sticker. It just didn't look right to me, so off it went.

    • Did you ever get this worked out? Mike is doing the two start thing now too. This is after a new camera back in December.
    • I’m doing an experiment on a vehicle I don’t have much money in. I’m going by the premise that after they last 100K miles they were no mechanical problems with assembly. Or defects with the parts. With oil changes by the minder for the first 127K miles when I acquired it. I quickly went through low mileage oil changes then settled on 5k oil changes with close to 170K miles on the vehicle currently. I did have the option to turn off the cylinder deactivation. I didn’t on this vehicle because it’s in ECONOMY mode at least half the time. It should be a no brainer frequent oil changes are the key. The manufacturer gets away with the long oil changes with its severe service  maintenance. Just ask them what is normal.
    • Even set to "recirculated", the air pushes out and is hot. I have noticed that sometime it doesn't want to switch between recirculated/vented air. Say it is set to Circulated Air and I want to switch to Vented, when I click the Vented button, it just quickly lights up/clicks and immediatly switches back to Circulated. It's done this a few times now. So maybe it is an actuator getting stuck? But then, that doesn't explain the hot air when everything is off does it?
    • I wonder what the price is out at the coast, Big Sur or other out of the way locations as I bet they are charging quite a premium over the in land pumps.
    • Were you looking at the HD trucks on the GM website or the half tons as that makes all the difference. As far as I know there are only two options for the HD trucks and that is the standard 2 speed transfer case or the 2 speed transfer case that has the added 4 high auto feature and they put that transfer case by default into the LTZ and High Country although its optional in the LT and not sure if its available in the work trucks.    The half tons, that is where its been a total mess in my estimation for a few years now with most trucks below the top trim having the single speed transfer case as standard but with the option of having the two speed such as one would get by choosing the Z71 package, however then not being able to get the two speed transfer case with the towing package unless it was a higher trim truck AND had the 6.2 gas so one could combine the towing package gearing diffs with the two speed transfer case. Having said that if its a trail boss package then it gets the two speed transfer case but not necessarily able to get the tow package as it would depend on trim level and engine chosen. Believe me, people have bought the GM half tons assuming "of course it will have a two speed transfer case" only to find out after when they really pay attention to what they now own .... crap, there is NO low range !.    I don't believe Ford or Ram have gone that way yet with their half tons but like I say its been a few years now that GM has done this with the half tons.
