I am going to buy a 2015 Denali Crew cab short box and see there are quite a few options.

I know that I want a Black exterior, bucket seats and 22" rims .

Are there other must have options?

And which ones should I avoid?

Is it worth the extra $$ for the 6.2 and how much less MPG than the 5.3?

Thanks.

Avoid the black ones with bucket seats, I heard they have issues.

I don't think they have Deep Ocean Blue Metallic -so what is the next color that won't have issues?

And I'll try to get one with the 40/20/40 split bench, hopefully that will also mean less issues! :dunno:

LOL, good stuff and reply!

To answer your question, 6.2 and 5.3 are getting similar gas mileage due to 8sp vs 6sp. I think the 5.3 is a hair better, but really not that big of a difference. If you need/want the extra power, then the 6.2 is for you. 5.3 is no slouch either though.

As for options, I can't answer that. I went with minimal options to save some cash.

Good to know thanks!

BTW, nice looking Silverado -it confirms that for me the crew cab, short box with big tires just looks great and is a definite!

There's not that many options to get with a denali is there? I thought they pretty much come with everything?

Since I'll be shopping what's on the lot and not ordering, I guess the big ticket items are my main concern. There are a couple of big rim/ finish options, a sunroof and the engine/ transmission -those are probably the majors. So I have the engine tranny response from Ryan -thanks. But if getting things like the upgraded rims is not worth it or anyone has had problems with any of them, that would be good to know. And I really am not too sure that I'd want a sunroof, but if the one on the lot has it, would it be a rattle/ leak problem and avoid and keep looking -that kind of stuff.

BTW, your truck looks great -I would love to go white, but the Denali doesn't offer the bright white and I don't like the other one.

Sunroof, Trailer Brake Controller, Rear Entertainment and 6.2L are the only options.

Bucket seats are standard on Denali.

Mine has everything except the Rear Entertainment System and 22's (they're a dealer installed accessory).

That's my understanding as well. The only options are exterior things, bed rugs, bed liner, exhausts, wheels, etc.

Denali has the spray in bedliner standard.

I'd recommend the console organizer, and husky liner floor mats. Some people have complained their weathertechs curled up on them.

Get more options that you "think" you want. Yes.. get 6.2. Just read the forum.. countless posts about users wanting to add this.. or add that after the fact. Last thing you want to do is drive a 50K truck you aren't 100% happy with.... what's a few more grand to make it perfect.. !
