2015 Silverado 5.3, engine failure at 482 miles

Got the truck back today. GM shipped it from dealer in Colorado that repaired it to a dealer in Kansas close to me. Runs like it should, so far so good!

Hopefully the new engine will last 10X longer than the first one!

Given that the first engine died at just under 500 miles, 10x longer would only be 5000 miles, 20x longer would only be 10,000 miles.

 

The new engine damn well better last 400x as long as the first one or I will be displeased! (the 350 in my 1989 Suburban has over 200,000 miles on it and is still ticking, has never had any internal work on it whatsoever. )

If early failures were going to be common, there would be many on this board, rather than just a few.

Purchased my 2014 Double cab z71 on May 1, 2015. July 25 2015 the engine went out at 8933 miles, one month to replace. March 2016 it started acting up, ended up the dealer installed the engine improperly and I had 35599 miles on the truck ran fine in between then. Ended up with a 2016 after I threw a fit to GM and the BBB. Hopefully the dealer did a good job installing.
