Remington Model 17, fix or sell?

I inherited as Model 17 with a broken stock 24 years ago. It's a 64xx SN it should be a first year, 1921. 20 guage, predecessor to Ithica 37, and designed by John Browning. Produced from 1921-33. Only a handful of them at online auctions from 250-375 but I have no idea how they compare. Hasn't been fired in probably 25-30 years.

Hard to tell what it's worth, anyone informed enough to know if it's a fix or a sell? I'm not really attached to it. Action seems to be smooth, but I don't have any 20 guage to see if it can load and eject.

From that picture, it looks like it should be an easy fix. You can buy a replacement stock for that shotgun without spending a ton of money. You should be able to find a good walnut buttstock for around $100 but the question would be, does it need to be hand fitted to the receiver? Can't really tell from your pictures.

Check our "Boyd's Gunstocks". They make quality stocks and are very affordable. I have ordered from them several times and have always received a quality product.

I kind of want to keep it because it's nearly 95 years old, but will probably never use it. This video made it sound like a new stock could be a bit of trouble:

But Boyd's has one for $65, think I might order. But might drop off at gunsmith to have them take it apart and check everything, it's old enough it needs to be checked out by a pro.

While having it checked out, I would at least replace the magazine spring. They are really cheap to replace, just to be sure the shotgun will feed properly if you ever do decide to use it.
