whats everyones favorite tire and why?

Just bought a set of used 22"s and they came with 305 40 22 falken ziex st/z 04 tires on them. From what i can tell this setup is equal to aprox 31". I am leveled and am told i can run a 33" with no problems and would like to fill out my wheel wells a lil better. The tread on the existing falkens are aprox 60% now but am considering purchasing a new set. I am thinking 305 45 22,=aprox 33".

Thing is, i have no idea of what brand or style tire to run. I like the look of an a/t but frankly, my truck will never see unpaved roads. I woud appreciate any opinions of tire brand/style preferences and why. Thanks in advance!

I don't have a favorite because I have run about every LT AT tire they make between my personal trucks and my work trucks. I really go for looks more than anything for my personal truck and I really like Nitto terra grapplers and Copper AT3's. For my work truck where I am offroad quite a bit but also on the Interstate even more I have had good luck with the Goodyear Wrangler AT with Kevlar.

Michelin LTX M/S. Not sexy, but they perform well and last forever. I'm currently running LTX A/T's, but probably should've bought M/S tires.

If they would just put ninja's, pirates, lazers and sh!t on the sidewall as graphics everyone would love them.

A decent light truck rated tire is all I care. I run a lot of gravel that is generally pit run... so it's up to 5" pointy boulders all over the road. It chews up even LT tires but some handle it better than others. Michelin are junk and most goodyears aren't much better in this environment. My Silent Armours did well but wore out quick as did the Wrangler AT/S's I had on my F150. The Duratracs were such garbage in both wear and reliability the company guys gave up on them and started running Muteki Trail Hogs...... a ripoff Duratrac that seems to wear and last better than the Goodyear version lol. When it rains it's about 3" of sandy soup on the main roads and then a mud pit at the pads. Winter is lots of snow so I get all the awful conditions that 90% of you posting here will never see in your life. The balance is highway driving.... and sometimes I think Bosnia probably has better maintained roads than we do here. I have BF KO2'S because the original all terrain KO's did well for me. I don't give a dam if I look cool or not... I do agree the sidewall of the KO2 is a busy looking tire but that's no knock against reliability and traction.

They used to be the BFG A/T ko's. The ko2's are cool, but i think they have too fancy of a sidewall. Which is how I ended up on the Cooper Discoverer AT3. These are great tires. Smooth riding, quiet for an AT tire, and so far they are wearing great. Not to mention they great to look at. I get a lot of compliments.

I am having trouble finding ATs in a 22" that equals a 33" total. But i guess thats the nature of the beast. Nitto grapplers and Hancook dynapro seems to be all i see...

ive had many sets of LTX M/S on my yukon denali, and they are awesome tires. How are the LTX A/T's?

Bridgestone Duravis R500 because nothing comes close to how long they last.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Well, from what i can tell if i want a non-street tire in a 305 45 22, im basically gonna have to get nitto grapplers, which is an outstanding tire from all of the opinions and reviews. I was just not prepared to pay $400 per tire lol.

May have to go back to street tires, which isnt the end of the world, as my truck will likely never see dirt, mud, or sand

Hankook Dynapro HT and Mickey Thompson STZ.

Hankook is lighter and that's why I like it.

PS: Their life span is short and that's what you pay for comfort and quietness LOL, so I change them frequently.

I love the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza. My wife travels a lot,and they are quiet, handle great, do well in the winter, and she got 82,000 miles on the last set with about 25-30% tread left. The 22" Dueler drops from an 800 to a 600 treadwear rating so probably 60-65k on a set.
