Question on Husky floor mat

So Im fixing to pull the trigger and buy some Husky floor mats for my 15 Denali in the front and a weather tech for the back. Question on the front, after reading and seeing pictures, I dislike how the mat hangs over the Door seal where it says denali. Is this something I could trim down with an exacto knife or my dremel and then sand it to make it look straight again? Just wasn't sure if this would work with the type material its made out of...

Dremel should work fine but suggest using as-is for awhile before any trimming. FWIW, I put the Husky's down in a brand new truck two weeks ago, it's been snowing and cold since, and the overhang you're referencing keeps any mung off the carpet. I also would recommend the Huskys for rear matt and storage bin under rear seats if you have a crew cab. Much preferred to the Weathertechs I've used in many other vehicles as they are more pliable rubber.

I would get the Husky mat for the rear, too. I have the Weathertech mat. It doesn't lay flat. It curls uo by the doors.

The only thing I found I didn't like about the Husky Weather Beaters, is the area over the wheel well where your left foot would go, doesn't come up high enough for me. I still get water and salt getting under the mat and in the carpet. Easily cleaned up though.

Love my Husky mats. I have the front and rear. They do cover the door sill just a bit, but it seems to serve a purpose as stated above. I would get them and leave them as is for a bit, then decide. But yes you cant go wrong with these mats.

I also like my Husky mats. I didnt like weathertechs in a friends because when they got wet, they got SO damn slippery. Hated it.

Had Husky in both front and rear since the truck was 1 week old. I wouldn't cut it as in the winter water accumulates in it from melting snow on boots and by leaving this it'll just drain outside and leave carpet intact.

Thanks all for the suggestions. The only reason I was looking at weathertech for the back was because I thought I had read that Husky didn't offer a full coverage for the rear seat, which is something I wanted. But after going back and looking I found they do, so problem solved. I won't be cutting it. I don't really have to worry about snow melting etc...in Houston TX its rarely under 30 most of the winter. Snow would be a miracle, although I have seen it before.

Hello all, similar question. Does anyone have the Husky rear liner (not the full coverage one but the smaller version) with an OEM undersea storage? How do they fit together? I am thinking of getting it since it would be easier to take out and clean as opposed to the full coverage that would sit under the box. I know the Husky liner is made to work with Husky's box but am wondering how it looks with the OEM box.

Weathertech all the way. used to use the husky's they had a funny smell when hot in closed car. i switched to weathertech's about 5 trucks ago and never looked back...

PS, i have always resold my used weathertech's on ebay for 2/3 the original price and the auctions NEVER last more than a couple hours.. no bs. start out at $.01 buy it now at $XXX.xx and within minutes 10 people bid on them someone clicks buy it now..

i doubt the husky's have that kind of want (i could be wrong but check for sold listings on used weathertechs vs husky)

I had whether tech in my 12 and held up great,I've just been hearing the new ones were deforming (the edges) so was thinking on giving the huskys a try. But not liking the last comment on the stink.

I have the OEM storage already and I should be getting my husky's tomorrow. I can post some pics after I get them in

You should be fine. I have the Husky box, but don't think they're much different than the stock box.

My wife has Weathertechs in her Tahoe. They don't fit that well (curling up, slide around some). So I tried the Husky mats for my Sierra, and like them WAY BETTER. I will not be going with Weathertechs anymore. I got the fronts and rear, plus the storage bin. Love it.

    • Yes, and also pulling heavy trailers or a large camper up steep grades as well as descending grades such as the more rustic off road camping locations and using engine braking with that low gearing as well as soft ground can just suck the power . I realize pickups these days tend to have an over all lower first gear ratio compared to automatic transmission pickups from years back so that has helped a lot in its ability in high range but there comes a point if in four wheel drive the torque runs out at the wheels, certainly with a gas engine. They don't put two speed transfer cases on pickups for a cool factor, they have a function if one needs that massive torque to the wheels that high range can't deliver.
    • Notes 7/18/2026   3,400 miles on this batch of Mobil 1 Euro 5W40 since the GDI pump replacement. Alcohol runs very clean when ring seal is tight and the sump isn't getting hosed with fuel. Checked oil level at fill up today as is my practice and grabbed a white Kleenex to look at the color. What color?  I was going to change it but.....
    • 4 low is really nice on steep boat ramps.
    • Interesting, I suspect I would have fueled up in Lee Vining as the day prior I would have filled up either in Laughlin or near there and maybe again before I entered Death Valley and once out the other side late that evening as I kept on driving into the night up near Lee Vining. Next morning I most likely fueled up in LV before heading over Tioga Pass into ( as I refer to it as "Yose .... Mite" 😁 ). And again that was 19 years ago but the price then must not have jumped out at me like the 5 bill a gallon theme of nutty cult hippy country Big Sir or head so far up their rear Aspen. I'd be curious to know where the highest prices are in the lower 48, I probably would not be far off to guess somewhere in Cali forn ie. Coldfoot and Prudhoe bay may have those prices beat but that is a whole other world up there and when prices are more normal elsewhere that is about what they can be up there I believe in no mans land. Anyway interesting that the 395 corridor is hosing people and the thing is, its tourist season and its not like there are a lot of competition options when driving up that highway from what I could see. Yup, big ole Boaterhomes and various other RV's ahead and behind me at the Yosemite entrance gate and they have to get their fuel somewhere.
    • Those can be high, as well as the big California cities. The ones that will pop your eyes out are the 395 corridor on the Eastern side of the Sierra Nevadas. Lee Vining, $7.19 for regular and $8.89 for diesel is what the Google said right now.
