Question to for those with 2016

1. The lane departure system - is this something you can turn off permanently... or do you need to turn it off every time you crank up the truck? I would like to have this, but only want it set to "flash a warning light or something ... no sound or seat shake - is this possible?

2. Sliding rear window - can you still get this on a 2016? I thought I heard GM was taking this away...

You can turn it off, but only completely off.

My wife has it on her Denali, and we both hate it, you can't just turn off the seat buzzer, and ours stays off.

Useless option IMHO, but I'm not one for driver technology that takes the place of general awareness.

I know lane departure in my High Country is something that has to be turned on everytime, which is nice cause I don't use it and I also turned off forward collision alert.

As far as the sliding rear glass I don't see why they wouldn't have taken that away, it's nice for throwing trash into the bed while driving lol

The sliding rear window is still an available option. ("A48 Window, power, rear sliding with rear defogger" )

There was a few months that they did stop producing rear slider (during MY14?), but the issues have been resolved and the slider is back.

It is definitely a different system in the 2016 to what it was in 2015.

Near as I can tell, Lane Departure Warning is now only available as part of 'Lane Keep Assist'. (Which is part of Y86)

From order guide:

"Y86 NEW! Enhanced Driver Alert Package, includes (UHX) Lane Keep Assist, (TQ5) IntelliBeam headlamps, (UD5) Front and Rear Park Assist and (UEU) Forward Collision Alert, Safety Alert Seat

sle - Requires Regular Cab model. Requires (PCM) SLE Preferred Package, (AZ3) seats 40/20/40 split-bench with (H0U) Jet Black cloth interior trim and (AG1) driver 10-way power seat adjuster.

slt - Included with (PDT) SLT Crew Cab Premium Plus Package. Requires Crew Cab or Double Cab model. Requires (PCM) SLT Preferred Package, (KB6) heated and vented driver and front passenger seating, (AN3) front bucket seats and (H3A), (H3B) or (H3C) interior trim. Not available with (GAT) All Terrain Package."

So far, I've left it enabled and have never had a seat alert or beep for 'lane departure warning'. The LKA is kind of interesting. It will nudge the steering if the vehicle is going to cross a line and the blinker is not on. Left on it's own, it will drift from side to side in the lane, without crossing the line. (it turns off when it can't find a line or when it is approaching a line at sharp angle)

It seems to me that LKA, allows the vehicle to move closer to the edge before it nudges than what the LDW did before warning.

Turns the high beams on and off automatically.

Kinda neat. Can be disabled if you want, and if turned of it will stay disabled the next key cycle.

The new LED headlights are great. Much better than the previous gen, even after the bulb upgrade/reprogram.

Haven't been around a 2016 with the HID's. (LED's are/will be optional extra above HID which is the new standard)

My sliding back window came with heated steering wheel lumped together on window sticker?

Yes, sliding rear window is currently only offered in a package.

slt - Included and only available with (PDT) SLT Crew Cab Premium Plus Package, (PCM) SLT Preferred Package and (PDG) All Terrain SLT Premium Package."

Intellibeam is useless to me. It's on and off way to much and at times blinds people driving in front of you.

I've done a dozen or so night trips in rural areas. 11 times I thought it was great, the last trip I had to override it a couple times because I thought that sometimes it was waiting to long when meeting traffic.

I didn't think to check for material over the sensor when the trip ended, but a build up over the sensor (in front of mirror) could reduce the level of light that is detected and delay dimming of the lights.

I have a sliding rear window on my 16...

Was part of the premium plus package
