LED Light Bar Wiring

So I'm toying with installing a 30" LED light bar behind the grill on my new 3500. My question is I have the snow plow prep package which gives me an unused switch on the upper console. I took it apart and the switch has a plug that is disconnected and two blunt cut wires to wire up roof light. I thought it would be slick to wire up the light bar and utilize this switch. Question is should I still utilize a harness with a relay or straight wire it. How beefy is the roof light switch or would the light bar fry it wired straight?

I'm not an electrician, but only a weekend warrior wiring newbie. But from what I know about LED lights is they don't draw much amperage. That switch is designed to power rooftop strobe/ beacons, so I'm guessing you would be fine to connect an LED strobe bar to it. if you can trace it back and see what size fuse is on the circuit, I bet it will be way higher than what your light will draw.

10-4 on that. The harness is cheap now I just need to find a blackout led bar that's not a mortgage payment like a rigid.

I actually did install a light bar from rough country but ran the supplied wire harness relay and switch inside the cab. I ended up using the beacon switch to run my auxiliary fuel tank transfer pump which works perfectly for that.

I used the overhead beacon light switch for a led light bar on my old truck and hated reaching up to out every time they needed to be turned off. I am going to install a floor switch for the new truck.
