Installing BOSS Amplifier, Kicker Subwoofer, and SNI-35 Line output co

Hey guys,

So, I started this quick project of installing a BOSS Amplifier, Kicker Subwoofer, and SNI-35 line output converter. I hooked everything up and now my stock head unit wont work, but when I press recall the clock will momentarily show then disappear, so its getting power, but it can't play music or tune into stations. Although the head unit doesn't work the amp looks like it does, well at least it turns on. I hooked the remote turn on wire to the radio battery fuse and the SNI-35 line output converter to the head unit connecting all the corresponding speaker wires from the head unit to the line output converter and plugged the RCA jacks from the line output converter to the amp. I have no idea why the head unit won't work.

Can anybody help me figure out this issue??

Do a search on line for install info. trouble shooting. I think the trigger wire(for the amp?) is low voltage.

Yeah, I searched a lot on how to install it. The amp is fine it turns on it's just my head unit (stereo) that won't turn on.

Dumb question,.... But are you sure a fuse isn't blown or the radio is still receiving power or getting a ground?

Agree with Jeff above.

Check that all cables to the head unit are properly attached as perhaps when you pulled the cables to interface your line converter you didn't accidentally disturb the power line.

Double check that you have connected to speaker cables and not power feeds, those factory wire bundles can get confusing.

If radio isn't coming on check power on the back to see if it is receiving power. If not start checking fuses. Even if radio fuse isn't blown, another one on the same circuit could be. Make sure to check fuse on radio as well. I'm assuming it's aftermarket? Is the radio new? If you are unsure about the radio shape check a radio to turn on needs power to yellow constant. Red to a 12v switch and black to ground. If quickly testing it tying red and blue yellow together and then a ground the radio should come on if the radio isn't broken.

Its the stock radio, but I think you guys might be right I'm going to get a multimeter to check my fuses. The weird thing is that when I press recall on my radio the clock turns on for a minute then turns off so its getting some kind of power. I disconnected the amp from my truck completely and connected the original wires back to my stock head unit and it still doesn't work the only thing that I could think that it could be would be the fuses or the radio itself. Thanks a lot guys for your help!!

Hey guys thanks for the help took it to a mechanic and the radio is working it was a blown fuse, but now my rear speakers don't work. I'm going to take it to a professional audio shop to install the amp and get my rear speakers working again, wiring is not my thing, so I'm gonna leave it up to them. Just glad that my stereo works again.
