BFG AT KO2 vs ST Maxx? 275/70/18 vs 285/65/18?

Looking for opinions on these two tires, which are on my short list as i keep looking and wearing down my stock SR-A tires.

 

i've read a lot of good reviews on each tire. anyone have more experience with these or have ran both for a comparison?

 

general consensus seems to be the AT KO2 is a really good do everything tire. i like the looks of the ST Maxx and the tread lugs seem to be a little wider spaced on the St Maxx, which i like.

 

Also, i'm currently stock height and not wanting to lift it a lot if possible.

 

i'm split between 285/65/18 and 275/70/18. i'm not 100% that the 275/70's will fit without rubbing if i don't lift. has anyone fit that size? i'm thinking worst case, if i went 275 i could lift if they rubbed any. i like the 275 for the slightly longer tread and slightly more ground clearance. Anyone have experience with both sizes or thoughts on either size?

 

i drive about 30K miles a year (maybe a bit more) and lots of highway. off road, its my daily driver, so, nothing crazy, fire roads, sand, dirt roads, nothing extream, just taking my son out in the woods to get dads truck dirty and see some sights. i do drive north in the winter some so winter traction is importing but not as much as if i lived back up north.

 

thoughts on either tire or either size? with my driving amount, i don't want to kill gas mileage or towing to much and go to big or to high, but want better performance off road.

My truck on 285/65/18 bfg k02 love these tires go threw what ever I throw at them mud snow ice they got my back. Haven't been stuck yet and im in canada and we have been getting alot of snow recently

I'm reviving this thread because I'm currently torn between these two tires and these two sizes. Does anyone else have any comments, reviews, photos, ect on these? I like that the ST Maxx has a more aggressive tread pattern, but I also like the sidewall and white letters on the KO2. I've had KO's in the past and they were great tires, the tread pattern just isn't the most attractive one out there.

 

Any feedback would be appreciated.

You are reviving a thread that had one reply? You would get better results looking and searching specific threads on these two tires, don't see this being much help. They are two different tires, one is an AT the other a hybrid AT/MT.

Yes, and thanks for your incredible insight. Maybe I've been doing research for several weeks now and wanted to get other's opinions on it here. It just so happens there was a thread already started with the exact title I would have put. I know what each tire is, thanks for the help though.
