How much boost are you looking to make?

I just want the dyno to say 500hp/500tq to the wheels.

Edlebrock doesn't have a good reputation for quality or performance with a lot of the true enthusiast circles. There are just better choices. not that they are bad, just better performance /quality choices out there. Many have noticed their quality is not what it was, and there kits & things are always kind of generic/turnkey for the hot -rodder who doesn't know a whole lot or want to do much themselves. (Leave power on the table)

 

Simple: e force vs. magnuson heartbeat which would you choose after research? E force vs. P1 procharger? Just better options than the edlebrock IMHO..

 

Looks like they're about $1k more for their kit, too.

I have my Magnuson 1900. Im going to be installing it in the next month. Where can you monitor the boost from? I did not see any ports to connect the boost line to. I would like to be able to monitor the boost. Did anyone use an aftermarket intake filter? I have a S&b dry filter and would like to use it but I have my stock box if I need to go that route. Any other tips from guys that put it on themselves. I read the instructions and it looks simple. Has anyone had any issues after the install? I have my tune from Justin at black bear already. Going to a buddies shop that is a couple hours away to install so I want to have everything ready for it.

I'm doing the eforce on my 6.2 this weekend. I did a maggie on my last truck and while it's a different motor it was pretty straight forward. On that tuck there was a nipple on the blower that was capped, you could remove the cap and could install a boost sensor.

Whipple claims to give you 150 RWHP/TQ for $6500 while Magnuson gives you 105 RWHP/TQ for $5,995. Why wouldn't you go with the Whipple? Does anyone have a reason disclaiming Whipple of their drastic increase in HP/TQ? It seems like a no brainer. I also noticed the Whipple having a huge edge on the Magnuson according to their web page dynos. Is a Whipple healthy for a stock engine? So many questions. Maybe someone can chime in.

I have seen trucks with the Whipple and a cam run very strong. Everything else seems to be holding. Guess we will see in the long run. I went with a Magnuson due to the research I did. Was a tough decision but that is what Justin at black bear recommended so I went with that since he has a few vehicles with them. I haven't installed mine yet but am ready to.

Whipple is using 2.9L/2900 rotors (ie more air), other manf.... are using 1.9/1900 or 2.3L/2300 rotors so that's why you see more power from the Whipple.

That's not quite how it works. That's the displacement of air moved per revolution of the rotors . What that means is given the same max rotor speed the whipple can more more air total which means it has a higher power ceiling. In reality all three are pullied to make roughly 6-7 lbs of boost. Where whipple makes more power is because they tend to run 7-8 lbs of boost vs 6-7 of the maggie/eforce. Other than that its just marketing claims due to the fact that all dyno's read differently and depending on which gear you do the run it also effects your results. What is really a good sign is comparing the rotor efficiency maps, which I can only find for the TVS 1900 and 2300. I can't find any for the w175ax. One more thing to add is I believe the whipple has a bigger intercooler so when you push them harder it has a greater ability to keep those IAT's low.
