Buying high mileage 2014

I am coming from a 2008 silverado that i loved, but was totaled in a wreck. I found a 2014 silverado with 95000 miles on it already for $25,000. All the service has been done by the dealer, seems to be in great shape. I test drove it down the road but didnt have enough time to really test it out. Would yall be cautious on this truck? Anything real specific i need to look for?

What is the configuration of the truck?? Seems a little steep for that many miles. I paid 28K for my 14 Z71 4x4 with 37K miles.

LT, double cab, 5.3, 4x4, center console, all star package, 18" wheels, skid plates, level kit, spray in liner, heated seats. I think its as loaded as an LT can get...

Exact same as mine just mine has the 20" wheels.

You should be able to eek out a better deal that is a lot of mileage IMO but its all in the care and maintenance. I would test drive it a bit mkre to make sure you are happy with it.

Yeah i was planning driving it a good bit before i forked out money for it. I cant hardly find the 07-13 body style with less miles. Thats why im wanting this '14. Same price with same miles as the older body style. (Trucks, espcially 4x4s are expensive here)

If it's a 2014 with 95k, then most of the driving was probably highway miles, which is better than city miles. Maintenance records are a plus too. But if it was me, I'd probably try to pay closer to $20k - $22k.

I'd ask if I could get a demo plate and take it to a mechanic for an inspection. If not, I'd at least wanna pop of the air intake tube and have a peek into the throttle body, as we're talking about a DI engine. A flash light a shop towel might tell you a little bit.

that's too much money for that truck / options. Kick in another 8 grand or so and you can get a brand new 2015 still in inventory.

Drive it to check for the dreaded vibration issue. Too much money for that many miles.

I think you could get a better deal than that. Consider looking online. You can get great deals if look inn a wider radius of where you live. I just bought a 14 Silverado 5.3l dbl cab with the rocky ridge alpine package ($11k) upgrade and it only has 3k miles. I got it for $37k and some may think that it's high but not for what I got. It was stickered as a $53k truck new. I wouldn't get it with 93k miles. That's seems way too high a price for that.

Ive looked on autotrader. 200 mile radius. Only a select few trucks i like. All roughly the same price and roughly the same miles. (23-26000 and 70-100000miles) this is the only NBS.

Its NADA AND KBB are right on $25,000...

I'd really pass on this one, although those are probably highway miles, you're talking about a truck with a 6-7 years of average usage.

I just got a brand new 2015 LT CC All Star 4x2 for about $31k. You can definitely find a better deal.

I paid 28 for my used 14 model

Crew cab 5.3 all star package it only 5thsnd miles on it. The deals are out there,, car guru

I'd pass on that one imo

Overpriced, I paid 25k for mine out the door with TTL with 40k miles. Granted it's only 2wd but it's the crew cab LT with 1LT (8inch touch screen, remote start). With 95k, you can get that for 23k out the door.

I agree with others, that is a steep price for the miles. If you are still serious about that truck, I would have the intake manifold removed and examine the intake valves (visible through the intake ports with the IM off) so you can see the level of build-up/coking on the valves backsides. This causes wear to the valve guides over time as this is a hard abrasive deposit all GDI engines have (2014 should have GDI new LT family engine). This only takes a few minutes with minimal tools to do and you will not regret doing it.

Not much else i would worry about as those mile most likely were easy highway miles to accumulate that amount in 2 years.
