hey guys. just joined the site after looking through it for a while. i bought a loaded 1500 ltz in november and i absolutely love the truck there are things about that i absolutely hate and are driving me nuts.

to start, the projector headlights have been fogging since day one are the biggest pieces of trash as far as light output I've ever seen. they fog up in the low and high portion and I've contacted the dealer and they said they will replace the assemblies for me one at a time even though i know it will continue to happen because after going to the dealer they showed me a bulletin that says they are aware of the problem and it even states that it should take 2-6 hours of running and driving time for the condensation to go away. ARE YOU JOKING ME?! You know theres a problem, admit it, yet don't fix it and will just replace it with another shi**y unit that will just do the same thing. My 2012 lt had better stock halogen bulbs than these atrocities and it got so bad that i couldn't even drive at night with the new truck. so i bite the bullet and ordered up a set of opti-7 5k bulbs for my low, high, and fogs and it was a great improvement and so far so good as far as light output and functionality. i did notice that with these new lights in, the daytime running lights don't always go on based on the amount of light outside (which i like bc i don't wanna have headlights on all day as I'm usually only driving during the day), but my question is does anyone notice this by upgrading their lights? will this ruin anything internally or mess with the sentinel? I've seen people pull the DRL fuse but i didn't want to go that far with it

the other issue is that the roll up tonneau cover rattles like a bastard and also doesn't fully seal to the top of the tailgate (when i turn my cargo lights on i can see light shining through) is there a fix for this or is that pretty much what i have to deal with?

the other problem is that i have the AC/heated seats and noticed a small bubble right in the middle of the seat between my legs that when i push has a "popping" sound as if its a bubble. does anyone else have this?

and finally, the hood shakes and the metal actually flexes up and down at highway speeds and I've addressed it with the dealer and they said that they need to add hardware to it but in my opinion how is that even possible? it just seems that the metal is very flimsy and thin and just doesn't have the balls it once did. anyone see this on theirs?

anyway thanks for any input and advice. i love the truck and its super comfy and awesome but the little things really piss me off and especially that i have to drop money to upgrade the headlights on a 60k truck so that i don't die at night. maybe i just expect to much….

The hood is aluminum and a very thin aluminum at that. The 03-07 hoods shimmied all over it drives me nuts in both off my friends trucks. I Always think the hood is going to fly open. Adjust the tonnuea or add a piece of camper foam tape. The lights suck plain and simple, my 05 super duty had better lights. I think they would be better if the low beams were on the bottom so they could project farther out before blinding people.

I have a 15 Sierra with those projector lights...yes they suck. I have read that turning the headlight adjuster 1 full turn counter clockwise helps a lot. I have not done it yet. If anyone has please post if it helped out.

i cranked my stock lights up a bit but it didn't do anything. i put the HIDs in and wow what a difference. i highly recommend upgrading them before something bad happens

it was bulbs, ballasts, and harnesses all together and for al 3 lights (low, high and fog) it came out to be about 110$ you do need to get a pigtail for the fog lights though. also for your high beams you will need to reverse the polarity on your harness when you plug them together

Normal on the seat cover. Just had mine replaced and they showed me the problem. Just the way it's made I've been told.

The projector headlights suck without HID, my 16 has HID and it's soooo much better than my 14 was. The hood shaking is pretty normal my 14 did it a lot, haven't noticed it on my 16 yet but, with the light weight aluminum hood I think it's pretty much expected.

yours was replaced because of the bubble? will it always return?

it came stock with HIDs? would it work as a swap to a 15?

Yeah the entry level lights are now HID and the LTZ & High Country have LED. I don't think you could convert it because they did away with the dual headlight config it like the sierras where it's one projector and has a shutter.
