Getting the exhaust done today

I couldn't justify $1000 kit of any kind in this truck -- so I called a reputable exhaust shop in town and heading over in an hour to get a Borla ProXS installed with dual out rear and rolled tips. $425 plus tax -- much better than $990 for Borla Touring Kit or $1200 for GM Borla kit (minus install labor). I don't really plan on looking at my exhaust piping so I am not interested in stainless or the cost with it--if the thing falls apart in 4 years, I'll just get new piping.

I had a Corsa exhaust on my SHO and whole 2 years I owned it, I regretted spending that kind of money on exhaust system.

I'll post photos and video once I get it done. Looking forward to some noise now. :)

I am incredibly pleased with how it came out! The Borla ProXS muffler with dual rear exits and rolled angle tips. It has that throaty sound I wanted with a nice calm inside when I'm cruising.

I will try to get a video one day.

So you removed the stock stainless system for Aluminium coated? Yeah you will be replacing pipe in a few years in Florida

I'll take my chances.

I had the same setup as my first exhaust swap. I never knew I was so picky about it until I realized I swapped through 4 different exhausts haha...

Anyway, I remember loving that setup, but only after I washed the truck. My only complaint was those tips get dirty from exhaust so quickly it's unreal. I guess if you wash her often it won't be a big deal, but it grew tiresome for me. Looks great man.

I was about to go the same route then realized they rust in 3 to 5 years and figure it's not worth it. Especially if I have to do it all over again. I rather keep the stainless.

It looks good, but now you have to breathe in exhaust when hooking up a trailer.

Getting ready to go back down the exhaust route myself once the new truck comes in. 6.2L w/ the 8spd. Going to do what I did on the current truck, Magnaflow 3.5" in / 3.5" out muffler, cut out the exhaust valve and resonator and this time I am also going to cut out the 3rd cat as well. Should sound pretty healthy once done, I will also turn off the AFM. Never had any issues with drone at all with this setup in the current truck.

Did it come with 3.08 gears with the 8spd?
