I am going to put in VLEDZ led fog bulbs in for now. I tried a 35w hid kit in my sierra and in no time it started messing up the inside of the lenses, so I doubt the tahoe fogs would be much different in regards to how much heat they can handle.

I'm not sure I understand what your asking. With the lights off the headlamps still look the same, you can't see inside the projector either way.

 

For everything to work properly I had to use the relay kit and the anti-flicker capacitor link. First I tried with just the relay (just to see what would happen) and only one light lit up, the other one flickered, and the drl's wouldn't work.

I just want to see how the projector looks inside of the halogen housing, or if you were just using a xenon (hid) bulb in said housing.

They come stock with a halogen bulb inside of a projector lense. All I did was put a hid bulb and kit into the stock projectors. Light output is increased tremendously.

Added some morimoto 6500k hid headlamps today. Great improvement over stock, to say the halogen lights it came with stock SUCKED would be an understatement! I still find it insane that I had to "add" these to such a pricey truck

 

Felt the same way about my Sierra, I'm very thankful for the HID's on my '16 SIverado

I totally agree hids should be standard $63k truck and no fog lights or hids. Crazy since it seems it would have made all the Chevy gm trucks running around look that much more appealing and safer to boot. I will be adding a set to my tahoe. Still haven't seen anyone add fog lights with factory switch

I think they can be added, thought I read somewhere. Mine has them factory, they just don't put off much light either. I just seen that morimoto makes the xb projector fog light assemblies that look like they plug and play, might try them out soon.

I seem to differ regarding upgrade from grand cherokee...Wife drives our yukon daily but unfortunately, every time I drive it I can't wait to get back into my JC Overland as ours is plagued with the buffeting issue. so sad for any vehicle let alone one in this price category. However, I'm still holding out hope that it gets resolved.

Well, upgrade in price that's for sure! Her jeep was nice, a loaded limited with the 5.7 hemi, had factory hids atleast! The pano sunroof drove me fricking insane on it tho, It had the sunroof frame replaced twice for a very annoying rattle and creak noise. Lots of little problems with it but nothing major.

 

Luckily her tahoe doesn't seem to have the buffeting noise in it so I am happy, and it rides smooth with no vibrations. The v4 does seem to kick in at the worst possible times like slowly accelerating up an incline and it bogs down too low in rpm range, but nothing a tune couldn't handle down the road a ways if it becomes bothersome.

My truck cruises in V4 at 80 mph on level terrain, but if I touch the pedal or the grade changes up, the truck immediately jumps to V8. And vice-versa, as soon as I get off the pedal or the grade changes down, the truck immediately jumps to V4. Strange, your AFM is definitely programmed opposite of mine.

I know, I was driving it yesterday, and with very light acceleration it kicked into v4, seemed strange because my sierra only kicks in 4cyl like you mentioned yours does. Obviously a little more acceleration on the gas pedal it jumps back into 8cyl mode, but I feel like I am constantly "making" it go back to 8cyl. Wish GM would've made an "Eco" button where you could choose if you wanted v4 mode or not.
