Today our stupid ass trailer decides to eat the studs on a axle thus we can't pull the trailer back to the shop so we can't take the New Holland back home.  Well me not wanting to have to drive 40 miles one way to get another trailer and get the New Holland I figured I'd save a trip and load the New Holland in the back of the HD.  So I take the tailgate off and back up to a hill. And in my buddy pulls our LX665 Superboom.  Around 5500lbs without counter weights and bucket, which it had both on.  You want to see your truck squat well this puts the hurt on the HD.  Blocked up the inner fenders to keep from absolutely destroying them.  I didn't have a camera or I would post a pic.  Took it to the shop and unloaded it with a 235 and straps I was like ha ain't seeing them fords and Dodges doing that.. :thumb:

The companey i work for has a 30 foot box trailer converted to a tool trailer The trailer weighed 22,050 pounds. It was loaded down to the max. I hauled it from milwaukee WI to KY about 550miles. Had a cummings 1 ton dodge try to pull it he got 50 miles till his wheel bearing's went out. Then put it on a lowboy to haul it to Tucson AZ. All with a 2500HD. It did have some wear on my truck the axle seals are leaking a little. Price to pay for bragging rights.

That's awesome man. I love fellow people like myself that push their trucks to their absolute max.  The Mechanical engineers, and civils would be proud of their trucks.  I have bent my tranny cross member bouncing the truck on a drain housing on accident but didn't seem to hurt the truck a hole lot.   Yep bragging rights are what it's all about.  Then you guys wonder why I replace wheel bearings and u joints and misc other parts on my truck..

Well, let's see -- New Holland construction equipment was bought from Ford Mo. Co. back in the early 90's. So - basically we have a Chevrolet hauling a three ton Ford Motor Company Designed vehicle.

My how twenty years makes a difference.

Wasn't it back in the mid-eighties when ford had the commercial of the F-250 climbing a mountain of rocks with a Chevy sitting across the bed and pulling a goat by the bumper. Guess that was before people spent hours on the internet telling people what a danger to society they are if they exceed the GVWR by 10 pounds.

note: goat = dodge ram, not a bearded billy

Yep remember that commercial. I honestly wasn't doing it to be like check out what the chevy can do in fact at the time I didn't even care if it got hurt. The day was going super s**tty and I just wanted to get home it was late and the bed was calling so I took a chance.

Like we say here in Texas..."it ain't braggin' if it's true!"

Heavy Chevys rule. :fume:

We have a saying kinda like that here.

"Don't let your mouth get you into something your truck can't get you out of"

And I agree Heavy Chevy's kick ass.

I got a good laugh when I pictured a bearded billy tied to the truck :fume:

BDBWTE, in another thread didn't you say GM trucks are too girlie compared to the other manufacturers?.

New Chevy Trucks...what were they thinking

I was concerned only with the 03 Chevy's. It seems to me that the made them sit even lower than previous chevys. Even though I know they are essentially the same truck as my 02 structurally. I just don't like the idea of the truck looking more like a care than a Kenworth.
