Why The Chevy/GMC ?

All the full size have comparable towing and bed capacity. The engine fuel economy was enticing for the Chevy as well as the interior. It was more suited for me compared to the Toyota and ford. The wife refuses to own a Dodge after having transmission issues previously. We happened to luck out on price and get about 10k off the sticker. Now this is my first full size having come from a small 94 bmw. And my first vehicle was a ford ranger.

I've been biased towards GM since I was little and that's what my parents drove mainly. I did look at the Ford but just couldn't get a deal on one and they were a little more expensive. Not a fan of Dodge at all and Toyota didn't want to discount much at all from MSRP.

I like the look of both the Chevy and GMC but like the GMC look a little more. Our other vehicle is a Chevy Traverse.

I just wish the crew cab was built in the USA too as it's one of the reasons I went with the double cab since it is.

The Chevy and GMC (I went with the GMC) had every other full size truck beat in the looks department....by a good bit IMO. I loved it when I saw it and once I drove it I was hooked.

I didn't want people to think I had bad credit pulling up in a Ram, so I got the Chevy! Jk, my last truck was a Ram and I had no complaints with it until about 50k miles the front suspension and steering started failing. I like the looks of all the trucks, but the Silverado just feels more comfortable to me. I've never driven a Sierra, but I'm sure it would be the same. I had an '07 Silverado I traded in on the Ram and missed it a lot. Now I'm happy again in my '15.

Sierra's are better because they're "Professional Grade" (and because of that cost 1% more)

Makes sense. I always wondered why the GMC costs more than a Chevy for basically the same thing. "Find New Roads" has got to be good too, right? Not as good as GMC but ...haha

Isn't GMC basically the same thing as Chevy but different package options and of course the slight increase in cost?

I have an SLE but it seems like it has the options a Silverado LT would have.

Same concept as the Chevy Camaro vs the Pontiac Firebird T/A

The brands power-train's, frame, cabs, electronics, are the same the "most" difference is looks, front end, hood, front & rear fenders, tail lights and interior color options with select trim levels. Pricing is similar, keep in mind GMC sales far less trucks, so it cost more per unit to manufacture, The Sierra Denali has exclusive magnetic ride control and tends to get the technology first or 1 year before Chevy (previous gen GMT-900 the Sierra Denali came standard with a 6.2 in 2007.5-2008 & a AWD option which I love BTW, Chevy had to special option it later in 2010 I believe, not 100% ), I don't see a rear Blu-ray player option on the Chevy high country, headliner mounted fold down TV / blu-ray, only the rear headrest DVD players are available on the website(could be a website mistake).

There are so many variables, most folks pick which brand looks better b/c really that's the only difference to "most", us enthusiast have a different mind set. Do you guys/gals get asked who owns GMC, LOL.

I am a GMC guy.

My reasons:

my last GM product had 170k with almost no issues

My truck before that has 230k miles and my dad still uses it for work

Looks

6.2L

I can fix it myself.
