Why The Chevy/GMC ?

Definitley Look. I also liked the interior gauges better on the GMC.

Picked the Chevy over the GMC because I liked the looks a little better. Plus I didn't care for the red lights of the cluster gauge, or the chrome trim on the windows on the Sierra. Both are good trucks.

I believe the OP is referring to Chevy/GMC over other brands.

Personally, I looked at all brands before purchasing my Silverado, and now Sierra. Overall, I thought that the GM twins were the best product for the money.

IMO, looks, options, ride quality, long term resale, etc. top Ford, Dodge, Toyota, & Nissan.

Some of these manufacturers may top GM in some individual areas, none topped GM in all combined so GM took the overall lead in my book.

There was just something about the Denali that caught my eye. I like the Silverados as well and a few family members had them for years and never gave a single problem to anyone.

When it came time for me to buy a truck, I looked and researched the Fords, Chevy/GMC, and Toyotas. I already knew I wasn't going to buy a Dodge or Nissan truck because I'm just not a fan of their styling. Anyhow, after looking, I decided to go test drive some. I messed up bad here. I test drove a 2015 GMC Sierra Denali 6.2 FIRST! Everything else after that, didn't compare, in my opinion.

Some how(right price and decent deal), I ended up in a 2016 GMC Sierra Denali 6.2 4WD and have loved so far the first month of ownership. lol!

I have owned many Chevy's and a few Pontiacs my whole life. The truck that is being built for me (hopefully being delivered late next week) will be the first GMC that I've ever owned. Personally, for me, I liked the GMC front end and wheels better than the Chevy trucks this year.

Reputation, Looks, and Interior.

My first Chevy (a Trailblazer) served me will for 11 years, which earned my brand loyalty. I fed her Amsoil from the very beginning, and the only issues it ever had was a leak in the front differential at year 4 and a bad alternator at year 10.

Looks - Both interior and exterior. Between the 2014/15 F150 XLT and Chevy LT, Chevy has a nice interior. More soft touch materials where they matter. A big pet peeve with the F150 is the ambiguous labels on the gauges - Low/High oil pressure, Cold/Hot coolant temps etc. Their display screen has lots of nice information though. As far as exterior, I think the 2015 F150 is good looking in certain trims but the Silverado has a nice classic GMT400 look to it. It'll still look good in 10 or 20 years whereas the Ford's styling doesn't seem to age well IMO.

Engine - Can't beat GM's LS V8's for reliability and aftermarket support. I do like the Coyote 5.0 and Hemi 5.7 though.

Quality - Mine has been nearly flawless other than a rattle or two I had to fix. My history with Ford has been mixed - too many issues that have carried over from year to year for over a decade now that still haven't been fixed. Ram half-tons are nice for about a year before they start to fall apart, rust, glitch, etc. I'd love to have a Power Wagon though.

This is my 4th silverado in a row (84, 92, 2002, 2014) and I keep them along time as you can see but that is not why I bought my 2014. I liked the looks and power of all the trucks that were for sale in 2014. It came down to which truck had the most options for the least amount of money. GM was the only truck that I could get the dealers down to 25% off MSRP which made the truck thousands less than the other brands.

Brand loyalty......but it's starting the wear off. I'm sure they all have their issues, but as of late (10 years), my last two trucks have been problems.....4k on the '15 Sierra....too soon to tell, but the headlamp issue is a biggie being I drive at night.

So many reasons...

Brand Loyalty. I loved the GMT900 trucks, and the K2 was nothing but an improvement to me.

Considered an F150, but I've always thought GM had better overall quality and just couldn't do it.

Another reason I said no to F150 is towing. I wanted a V8 and the 5.0L didn't cut it. Even lowest rating on GMC was higher than the 5.0L with 3.73 and tow package.

No regrets!!

Edit: Well, I never saw and AT Edition until after I signed...so maybe a tiny regret

I went with the gmc because of the auto 4x4. From what I can tell, can't get it in the chev.

And yes you can get the Auto 4x4 in the Chevy, you may be thinking of the Colorado and Canyon!

Chevy & GMC are built on the same assembly line ...

GMC cost about 1% more

Looks & dash cluster are the difference

GMC grill is my preference ...

And yes you can get the Auto 4x4 in the Chevy, you may be thinking of the Colorado and Canyon!

opps. My bad. I went with the gmc because I did not like the all aluminium body of the ford. Also with the recent problems with Dodge front ends is why I did not even look at them.
