2006 Sierra Exhaust

Hey everyone, was hoping to get some opinions on what to do with my truck. I have a 2006 Sierra SLT Crew Cab. I had a custom exhaust put on maybe 7 years ago that is now rusting off. On my drive in to work this morning it finally broke for the second time. I plan on keeping the truck and don't want to keep fixing the exhaust. Any thoughts on an exhaust shop or just going to a place like AutoZone or O'Reilly auto parts? I also found a Dynomax exhaust system from O'Reilly that was close to the same price as just piecing together replacement parts. I need everything from after the cat back.

Thanks for the advice!

Probably a stainless kit or a shop that uses good quality regular pipe would be your best bet. Nice truck by the way.

Thanks for the reply guys. Any recommendations on a shop? There is an exhaust pros in town, but I have no idea how good they are. My plan was to just replace it myself if I can find a cheap enough system. I don't mind doing the work.

The best option for a shop would be one that you know does good work. Maybe ask people you know that have had exhaust work done. It's easy when you've had exhaust work done multiple times, but since you haven't had to touch yours often it might be a little harder to figure out a good shop.

Very jealous, looks like you have a quadra steer? Also, FYI, I ordered this from Amazon and will install it myself. http://www.dynomax.com/single-3-cat-back-system-super-turbo-muffler-17406.htmlIt was cheap and I couldn't pass it up. I went cheap because the truck will not get many miles put on it in a few months because I have a 2017 Chevy Volt ordered. Also, I don't mind loud. The exhaust that fell off today has been on there for like 7 years. It was straight off of the cat and came out both sides of the rear at a 90 degree angle. I'm surprised at how much louder other trucks are though, so I don't understand why my truck has always been quiet with no muffler.

Quick update. Amazon messed up and sent me a Dynomax system for a Ford Super Duty. Not sure how that happened. Since I litterally did not have an exhaust for a few days, I emergency ordered this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JCKT6IQ?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

Install took less that an hour. I'm very happy with it and the quality. Only parts I would change are I wish it came with a chrome exhaust tip and wish it was a little louder. Also of note, Amazon's website said this would not fit my 2006 Crew Cab, but it fit just fine.

Good stuff. That's a very affordable system. I think the Corsa set me back $550.

You can always add a tip on there. Wish I still had the one that came with the Corsa kit, I'd just send it to ya. I think I gave it to a buddy who had a Silverado. Ultimately, I just re-used the Denali tip on the truck.

Yes, it is a Quadrasteer BTW. :) Once I drove one of these I was hooked.

Very happy with my Dynomax cat back dual system. It looks new after 2 years and was very inexpensive.

It's not particularly loud but does not drone and sounds rather nice I think.

I added stainless tips as it does not come with them.
