i have a 2016 silverado ltz with the 5.3 engine. im looking to put a volant intake system on in. im getting different information on weather it fits or not. amazon says it doesnt fit the 16 model but fits the 15 model. real truck says it fits my vehicle. the part number im looking at is 15553. i called volant and they said it didnt not fit because of the mass air flow sensor being different. can anyone please confirm this for me. im looking at buying a borla sport cat back exhaust and the intake very shortly. thank you

The systems for the 5.3 are the same for all 3 years (14, 15, and 16) and the same for the 6.2l trucks.

If volant says it doesn't and gives you a reason for it.

I would trust them.

OP said nothing about Volant saying it wouldn't fit, Amazon and Real Truck said it wouldn't. They will fit, nothing has changed at all on the 5.3 engines from 2014-2016, same goes for the 6.2l trucks everything is the same from 2014-2016.

Read his post.... He clearly stated that he called volant and they told him it wouldn't fit because of the MAF sensor being different.

I just looked at my 2016 yesterday, everything is the same. But what do I know, Airaid said the 5.3l kit wouldn't fit the 6.2l trucks until me and another member showed them it did fit, then they changed their parts listing to reflect so.

volant said the maf sensor is different mounting on the tube. i dont know if i really trusted the guy tho, he didnt even ask me what engine i had in the truck. he just said that there working on a new tube and to check back in a few months.

real truck says it will fit but amazon says it wont fit.

if volant wont work is there any other intake system that you would recommend that "will" fit.

i went to k&n website and the list the same filter assembly for the 14 15 16 models. i wonder if volant just hasnt updated the info for the new trucks

I went ahead and ordered the volant intake and it fits with no issues incase anyone is wondering

Can you get me some detailed pics of the inside of th airbox and how it conects to the intake tube?!

I'm on vacation without my truck. But the intake comes with a new tube that you have to use. The intake slides onto a lip on out side of the box and the filter slides onto a lip on the inside of the box

Ya the tube is the same, but the adapter to attach the tube to the throttle body is different because the TB on the 6.2 is bigger. If you look on the Airaid site and only change the engine size the part numbers are different. If a site has the same part # for both then they probably supply the adapter for both engines in the same kit or the adapter is made to fit both so it will be loose on the 5.3 and tight on the 6.2.

I just ordered the Volant 155536 variant for a 2015 Silverado 5.3. how do you like yours? I don't have a cat back on yet but I am curious to see how it sounds compared to the stock w/KN filter I have now.

have you had any whistling or other sounds from it?

Also did you notice any big changes to acceleration?

You can definitely tell it's there. It's pretty loud compared to stock. You you first hit the throttle you can really hear it. It will be the only noise you here in the truck. Once I put the borla s-type exhaust on. I barley notice the intake system.

Helped a little bit with throttle response can't really tell if it did anything for gas milage since I only had 1200 miles on the truck when I put it on and it was in the middle of winter. But I get 20 to 21 mpg on the highway with cruse at 71 mph
