Parking assistant

Do you mean the beeping deal that alerts you when you're getting close to something?

I don't believe you can add the GM Parking Assist. In addition to the hardware sensors, bumper and control switch update to the dash switches, it would require a software upgrade which dealers are not authorized to do. They can only provide fixes to issues for factory installed options in you RPO list. You may be able to find an aftermarket unit.

If that's what you're after I've got it, it's not that great.

I added a $20 eBay kit for backup sensors to supplement the camera. The camera doesn't see the corners very well. It's a fairly straightforward job.

Are you pleased with the after market backup sensor you bought. Which one did you purchase?

I'm happy. It looks like you can get them even cheaper now. I sealed the controller with 2-part epoxy and mounted it behind the tail light. I added some wire to the speaker leg since it was too short to reach the cabin. I then added a toggle switch to disable it when towing and a relay so it only activates when the truck is on.

I've never had a problem with using the camera when backing up. Plus, you do have side mirrors. You shouldn't look at just the camera when backing up. The camera just lets you see the blind spot right behind the truck. So with using the camera and side mirrors you have no reason to back into anything.

Stop it with your logic!! [emoji12]

That beeping drives me nuts. It's like having the wife in there with me saying don't hit that building or other large object that I obviously see.
