GCVR

So I've been doing a fair bit of research on the 2016.......and I've seem to have found this info for a 2015, but not sure it's right. What is the GCVR for a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 Double cab 4wd std box?

I saw two numbers for the 5.3L V8, 3.42 gears. One was 14,000 and one was 15,000. Would this be for the gas and the other for the flex version?

Thanks in advance! Just doing some math on towing, etc.

I know the truck is supposed to be able to tow 9200. It weights ~5400.....and gear/people is 600.... so, 5400+600=6000. What's left for the trailer/load......is it 9000 or 8000? 9000 + 6000 = 15,000 gcvwr. I hope that is the answer?

Where are you seeing a GCVR number? All I have ever seen in the max trailer weight number and the max vehicle weight. The two numbers are exclusive of each other. With the 2016 6.2 engine it is supposed to have a maximum trailer weight rating of up to 5,443 kg (12,000 lbs.), and the max vehicle weight is 7,000 lbs according to the web site.

I saw it in a general motors trailering guide...but i think it was a 2015 or 2014 version. I took a snapshot on my phone of the numbers. I have all the numbers that you're talking about as well. the max tow with a 5.3l 3.73 gears is 11,000 as well. I know the 6.2l you're referring to is 3.42 gear ratio. Either way, mine is the 5.3l v8 non-flex model / non-max tow.....so maybe that is the discrepancy i see in the 14000 vs 15000. Gross combined vehicle weight rating. the max tow package gcwr in your particular setup is about 17500.....which is about 5300 truck + 200 gear + 12000 trailer with load = 17500.

I'll keep looking, but you would think this info would be easier to find.
