slimjim2525 Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 Brought my daughter to the range for the first time. She did well. Shot a Ruger SR22, as the range limits her to what she can shoot.
BlackZ71Silverado Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Perfect caliber to get the young ones started. A .22LR is the best way to go for a beginner.

Especially with 22s like the M&P that are identical to their 9mm,40, and 45 counterparts for familiarity with the controls. I think my dad had me, my brother and sister shooting 22s by age 5 or 6. Such a beautiful thing that my entire family knows what they are doing when it comes to firearms. I learned a valuable lesson las time i took my girl to the range. Last trip i had My girl was wearing a low V cut shirt wanting to be cute and show cleavage and had a. 380 acp casing from her Glock 42 go right in the tatas hahaha i had to fish it out.... And gave her the i told u so and now swears to wear turtlenecks... No burns for her but less tatas for me at the range. Sent from my Note 4 on Tapashit
Gurrzt Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I agree too, I started off with a .22lr revolver, and worked my way up to a .45 revolver, same mechanics, only the .45 is a lot more fun to shot (@ a licensed gun range)

It prevents young ones curiosity with firearms and will prevent them from having any accidents due to curiosity. Entire family being familiar with firearms and how they function = safe family.
Spurshot Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Perfect caliber to get the young ones started. A .22LR is the best way to go for a beginner. Agreed. Even adult beginners . Too many guys want to jump into a defensive caliber pistol right off. They often enough don't learn good trigger control and flinch like hell and end up not shooting worth a damn until they get a .22 to learn it right.
