Interior pillar set

Recommended Posts

My truck has the black leather with red stitching (all terrain) package. I love the interior except one thing, the light color on the interior pillars. I was about to order the drivers side assist handle and I really like the dark charcoal color versus mine (very light). Anyone know the part numbers for the other 5 pillars? I already know the drivers side front number. It would be nice if some place sold all 6 of them as a kit, not holding my breath though on that. Thanks y'all!

Received it in 3 days and took less than 10 minutes to install. I do have one concern, though.

The original piece snapped into place and was attached to a tether so that if the airbag deploys, it doesn't become a projectile.

Because of the handle, the new piece is bolted on. Will this render the side curtain airbag ineffective or just partially so?

I don't think it changes the way the airbag works.

The airbag extends down the pillar about 8-10". It was covered by a snap on plastic piece, but that piece is now bolted on. I assume the airbag runs over the door and down the A pillar. The part of the air bag running down the A pillar will not be able to deploy now. Will that effect the rest of the airbag?

If it is a original gm part then it had been tested and designed to break away during an airbag deployment. It should not become a projectile. Now if it is an aftermarket piece all bets are off.

Should the side curtain airbag go off, I will let let you know the outcome.

I always thought the plastic was made to split open, under the handle where there's smooth plastic and the crease in the middle, during an air bag deployment.

I've only ever seen it in Light Gray or Shale. Light Gray is generally what goes with the black interior

Truck Monkey actually shows 3 different part numbers and colors. There seems to be some confusion in the ad for the cocoa dune handle, if one even actually exists???

Read the fine print in the third one, it says cocoa dune, while it says shale in the heading. It also shows both the light gray and the shale ones above it? Just went back and read it again, and the third one is a PASSENGER side assist handle. The color in the pics is obviously deceiving. It does have a (4dp) code on it, so maybe the base trucks don't have the passenger side handle either?

Do they maybe offer a darker charcoal one or a darker cocoa dune one for the 2016 model pillars???

I hope this is true and that I never find out.
