Taillight Removal

I have a 2014 GMC Sierra SLE All Terrain. I just bought some Phillips LED reverse bulbs and have an installation question. Once I remove the 2 screws inside the bed, is there anything else holding the light housing in place? I started to give it a tug and heard some plastic grinding noise. Other then flexing the housing outward it seems like the other side of the housing (body side) is attached to something. It is not coming out easy. Before I put some muscle into it I figured I would check...

if its like the GMT900 and GMT800 there are pins. You have to muscle it out. Pull it straight out and you will be fine

Cool tx - I will give it a try. Guessing this is the first time it has been removed so seems tight

Even if you remove a few times it will be tight. The clips should go into a rubber grommet

They just require some effort. I put my Philips leds in there too and thought the same thing. Just don't do it if its cold out.

I know this is a little off topic but how much brighter are the LEDs compared to stock

Like going from wearing sunglasses in a cave to staring at the sun

It depends on what Leds you get. The ones that project to the rear will be noticeably brighter. The philips 921 ones I bought have a reflector built in, so the light is kind of spread out in the housing instead of projected straight out. They are def brighter than the incandescent bulbs, but I was after the brighter white color vs actual light output. If I wanted to see behind me that bad, I could install some aux lights.
