Hmm... well I own a 6.2 truck as well.. and trust me... I want nothing to do with their club... like the vast majority beyond maybe 10 guys on this forum....

We read countless threads about new buyers that got a 4.3 and wish they had a 5.3. OR buyers that got a 5.3 and wish they had a 6.2

I had yet seen one post about a new buyer that got a new 6.2 and thought it was a bad choice... or maybe wished he had a smaller engine ..

Read the complaints part of this k2 section... there is someone who can whine about anything lol.

Complaints ? that's all people do on the forum. I sure if I read long enough I can find someone complaining about how bad the windshield washer fluid is..... it never ends ....

Lol. I agree totally.... everyone has something that bugs them but this place seems to attract the people who basically shouldn't own a vehicle..... because nothing will ever be good enough.

I went to the dealer last night and examined a Denali while nobody was there to hound me. I found one unlocked so I climbed in, got comfortable and played with the infotainment system for a while. I could definitely see myself enjoying that truck.

The 6.2 Sierra Denali club, its worth it! Get one with Tri mode steps, you'll prob... end up owning it in the end, the Bose sound cancelling makes the truck so quite its a 6.2 upgrade only.

The Denali is so much nicer than the High Country, the HC is so damn ugly, horrible looking front end, wheels, and poop brown interior, standard SLT cluster and no magnetic ride.

Yeah, I'm not a High Country fan, I'd rather just get an LTZ with the chrome bits. The Denali works out to be cheaper to lease though, so now I'm leaning in that direction. The only thing I don't like about the Denali are the textured black wheel opening moldings. With the Denali's color-keyed front bumper it just looks odd up front, but I like the Iridium color and it hides it pretty well.

I spec'd out a Denali and didn't go for the tri-mode steps because they only slide outward and not downward, that makes them too tall just like the standard steps. I'll have the dealer leave the standard steps off in favor of a set of Amp power steps that come down several inches and make getting in the truck much easier. Hopefully I can get some dealer credit for the standard steps since GM won't let you delete them for credit.

I love my steps, more importantly they keep passengers from sliding out of the seats, that drives me crazy. The standard steps sit much lower, only downside is they are too close to the body, as if you are sticking your foot under the rocker panel, the AMPs will be "about" the same height from the ground once opened, they just look different b/c they are thin.

you can get the painted fender flare edge protectors, makes no sense b/c they will chip that's why I didn't get them but it does look good.

I know they sale the base color, painted flares, ready to go about $511.00+ish

Yeah, steps are a must on these newer trucks. My father has factory steps on his '99 Suburban 4x4 but they aren't really necessary and are too high up for me to use anyways, so I just step over them. Can't do that so easily on these tall ass trucks of today. lol

I've followed this thread partially because you look identical to one of my sons! Hopefully this doesn't sound like fatherly advice!! You are talking about leasing a Denali with a 6.2 but also like the LTZ. Take a test drive in a fully equipped SLE with a 4.3 and/or a 5.3. You might be surprized with the smile factor with the bonus of being closer to vehicle ownership. This time around I was considering the Diesel Denali but would have required a considerable car loan. I am proud of my SLE 4X4 4.3 and it is all mine!!

The SLE/SLTs are nice trucks too, all of these new trucks are nice, but I'm determined to lease this time around and just get a new truck every few years. I can lease a Denali for less than an SLT or loaded Chevy and the payment would be about the same as buying an SLE/LT. I like to change cars so much that I usually always end up having a car note anyways, so this way I avoid the hassle of resale value negotiation and the possibility of being upside down in a few years when I want something else. If the 2020 trucks are terrible and I fall in love with the leased truck, I can always just finance the residual at the end of the lease. I'll probably just return it for another when the time comes though.

I appreciate the advice though! Your son must be a damn handsome guy.

Man, seems like the 5.3 (or 4.3) and 6.2 guys don't get along lol. I owned a 14 5.3 and thought it was a great engine, far better then the previous versions and plenty of power for a DD. My 15 is a 6.2 and I love it. Will admit sometimes it's hard to stomach paying for 93 when some stations ask a while $1 more for 93 vs 87. 6.2 has much better driving dynamics and gets the exact same mpg as the 5.3.

Personally I wish I could have gotten an LT with the 6.2, but guys who are saying 10k for LTZ and 6.2 don't line up with my experience. All the basic options on the LT with a 5.3 are close to base LTZ price.

Anyway, can't go wrong with either, but whatever way you go, I would highly recommend the 8 speed.

Yeah I agree, it's a lot of arguing that strongly resembles ego,and self justification of their purchase. I view the 6.2l as just a better, bigger version of the 5.3l which is a great engine in itself. As far as price I agree too. A base ltz,or slt with a 6.2l isn't much more than a loaded lt.
