NoleLife Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Anyone know where I can get the Midnight special edition Z71 decal (the large one that goes on the side?). I've tried finding it in the parts catalog and on various websites but can't locate one. If no one can find one here, my next option was to check the dealership but I'm sure they want 300 for it, if it's not restricted haha.
newdude Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 So...did you actually bother to try the dealer instead of assuming that the Z71 door emblem is $300. Its only $39.82. P/N 23465289.
Chris Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 is it a door badge like this? I haven't seen one in a while. I think there are only 2 Midnights here http://www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-GM-Z71-FRONT-DOOR-EMBLEM-CUSTOM-SPORT-2015-SILVERADO-GM-23465290-/161776366990

It was a deliberate exaggeration to accentuate the fact that purchasing stuff through the dealer is (generally) much more expensive. But thank you - that looks like it!
newdude Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Is that a decal or an emblem? That is the plastic molded large "Z71" emblem found on the Midnight Z71 and Custom Sport Z71 trucks.
SouthernSilveradoGuy85 Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 I replaced the Z71 decals on my bed with the door emblems off the Custom sport and I'm glad I did.

ChrisTronyxYocum Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 The above emblems/badges can be purchased here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-GM-Z71-OFF-ROAD-DOOR-EMBLEM-2015-CUSTOM-SPORT-SILVERADO-GM-23465289-/141556060711?hash=item20f5661227:g:qCMAAOSwk5FUx~G-&vxp=mtr
SouthernSilveradoGuy85 Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 THIS! I want to do this, but I don't have any experiencing with removing the stock decals. Any advice? Mine came right off without a heat gun or anything. I did also do it on a hot day so that helped. Before I peeled them off I did put blue painters tape along the bottom and front edges. Took maybe 10 minutes to do both. At first I was hesitant on paying $40 per emblem, but then I saw the decals were $20 a piece so I figured it was worth it. From a distance it still looks like the decal until you get close to it or the sun hits the chrome trim.

I'm assuming the tape was to give yourself a right angle to then assist with getting the badge straight/square?

I'm assuming the tape was to give yourself a right angle to then assist with getting the badge straight/square? Just used my fingernail to get it started. Ya the tape was just to keep it level and have the front edge that's facing the front of the truck in the same spot. I noticed when you put the tape at the bottom and front the corner won't be where the corner of the emblem will be. I just made sure to line up the 2 sides and didn't worry about that corner. You can use whichever sides as long as you do the mirror on the other side. So top for top or bottom for bottom and front edge to front or rear to rear. I lucked out a little by putting the tape on the front edge because the emblem is a tad narrower from side to side so the rear edge actually lines up better with the edge of the taillight.

Pick it with a fingernail and the whole thing comes off.

Figured as much, but wanted to check, thanks. Just used my fingernail to get it started. Awesome, thanks for all the info!
