So I just wanted to do a quick intro, my name is John I am a retired Marine and I just traded in my 14 Durango for a 14 Sierra 1500 SLT All Terrain couldn't pass up the deal they gave me plus my wife works in the service department lol. Only had it a day but loving it so far. One question is it odd to have a regular size bed all the ones I have seen have the short box and mine has the regular box.

Welcome from NC

As for the bed, starting in '14 you could get either the short bed or regular 6' bed with the Crew Cabs. Before that, if you got a 1/2 ton Crew you had no choice but to get the short bed. Might have had the option of Crew with the 8' long bed. The easy way to tell what size bed on the K2s ('14+) is rather the gas door is on the fender flare or not. Just seems like you rarely see a Crew with the standard bed, even now. When I looked at my '14 at the lot all of the Crews I saw had the short bed and I need the standard bed. I need at least a standard bed because I both want at least that to haul but also because I need a full size toolbox. A low pro would even be too short, so a toolbox with the corners cut out for the fender wells on a short bed wouldn't be big enough. So that shows how much crap I have in the toolbox, then I have the underseat storage under my back seat for more lol. Before these K2s came out with this option I said that if I ever need a Crew I would get a 2500 so I could get the Crew and standard bed. Now you don't have to unless you want or have to get a pre '14 truck.
