Yet another annoying Tow Mirror thread.....

So, I'm in search of tow mirrors for my '16 Silverado 1500. I'm too cheap (aka- the wife won't let me) to spend $600+ on the newest OEM style. I had just about convinced myself to get some of this style....large.JPG

But today, I was checking ebay, and I found these:

They say they're for older trucks, but they're the newer style? I know everyone is sick of this question, but.... will these work on my truck? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

I asked the same thing a few months ago and couldn't get a straight answer. I didn't feel like being the guinea pig so I stopped perusing it until I knew for sure.

Wiring them I wasn't worried about, I could figure that out. What I wasn't sure about was whether or not they would physically mount to the door.

Check out BFN Truck Shop. They are also on ebay. 749.00 for the set. More than you want to spend.

I would be willing to trade my tow mirrors off of my 16 for the non tow mirrors plus a little cash, but apparently they aren't a direct swap wiring wise. I was kinda bummed when I found that out.

I'm in same boat but gotta have power fold.

I'd be Leary of these ads since they're not for newer trucks.

Best price I found with power fold and required harnesses is just under $1k but have found prices to range up to $1.5k???

Wish there were some way to know if these prices will come down or who has best deal.

I bought these for my truck, not to thrilled and would like to go to the newer style OEM. I ran a wire directly to the new mirror thats a key on 12v for the clearance lights. My understanding is the new style are being made for a lot of the older trucks so the ones for the 13 may not fit, I just don't understand the price difference, why does it double between 13 to 14 and up.

per this listing they are newer style (15+) but made to fit 07-13 meaning they only have 3 threaded studs and our trucks require the 4. I believe the HD in 14+ retained the old body style mounting. I would say. No these will not work

Those will not even mount to the door. Whole different truck 2007-2013 vs. 2014+. Those have the 2007-2013 door mounts on them for 2007-2013 doors.

I may have a set of the non powerfold laying around. Lemme check my stash of stuff...

My truck (2014 1500) has 3 studs, I would have to drill the hole for the 4th on the OEM mirrors. And like I said I could figure out the wiring, it's whether or not they would mount to the door and blend with the molding for a clean install is what I would be worried about.

I don't believe they do, they are different mounting "plates" they require the 4th hole and the pigtail is different as well.
