I don't think it looks bad at all. I too am surprised it didn't get the 1/2ton facelift, the headlights look damn cool imo.

I am curious about the new duramax, but I wouldn't have been a 1st year guinea pig anyways.

The only areas of improvement that's really needed is the cp4 and emissions. It makes plenty of power already.

The hood ruins an otherwise nice-looking truck. I imagine they ruined the Silverado HD the same way. Hope the complete redesign is much better than this half-baked attempt at a "refresh". It may look better on other trims or in person, but I'm just not a fan of it right now by seeing the one pic.

Its a great looking truck no doubt but I too am surprised it hasn't received the same updates as the 2016 1500. Where are the LED lights???

GMC got new lights for 2016. All GMC HD trucks have HID headlights, but no LED headlights. Silverado HD didn't change for 2016.

I thought Ford hadn't announced the new HP/TQ ratings for the 2017 6.7 Powerstroke yet? I can't imagine it will be less than Ram. Maybe GM and Ford are playing a game of chicken waiting for the other to announce so they can one up them.

2016 6.7 Powerstroke is 440hp 860 ft.lbs. I'd imagine they are aiming over 900ft.lbs for 2017 for sure. GM and Ford are going to have a who can wait the longest match for sure.

They upgraded the HD bulbs for 2016.

Is the transmission gonna be all new also? How long before we know the new motor will be as good as a work horse as 6.6L? Im on the fence between a 16 or waiting for a 17...

GM is swapping fuel systems, it will be a great motor!

It's definitely at an odd angle that makes it difficult to tell.

It's never really bothered me yet (though I haven't had the pleasure of putting it on the lift yet. May change my mind after..) but I can admit it would be nice to not see it there
