TRS HID Light Issues for 2014 Silverado

I installed a TRS 55W kit in my @014 Silverado and I have been having some issues as of late, so I was wondering is anyone else has experienced this.

With this kit it only uses one input source to turn the light one which for my truck I used the passenger side. I have been noticing lately that my driver side light does not always come on automatically, so I have to turn the automatic switch on/off a few times to get them to come on. This doesn't happen every time that I drive the truck so that's what is not making sense.

Has anyone experienced this before? TRS wants to me to move things around but I'm trying to see if anyone has had this issue before I go and start removed and changing things.

Any help would be great.

Do you have the canbus harness too?

I have had this kit in my truck for a while now. No issues.

Here are some videos I made. Maybe they will help:

Yes I have the Silverado Spec kit from TRS. I actually used your videos for the install and it was great. I had zero issues for the first few months then all of a sudden its having issues. I put the stock bulbs in real quick for a few days and had zero issues.

My guess is that a ballast has gone bad which is why it doesn't fire up every time. I would ask TRS to send you a new ballast.

It's an act of congress to get them

To warranty something they want me to go through all kinds of test. I was looking to see if someone has dealt with this before because I have to remove a bunch of stuff to switch ballast

Worth a shot for warranty. Or buy a spare ballast. I have my stock headlights and spare dust caps in my glovebox just incase i lose my hids on my sierra. Road trip truck, need headlights

Had this same issue. After replacing several parts and flipping plugs, I'm hoping it's solved.

For the issue that I had that was similar to this one was a bad ignitor

I had all kinds of problems as well. Started with the same issues, then it was flickering yada yada yada.

TRS was good was good to work with, but I fixed the problem by installing the xenondepot kit.

Had a feeling I would be adding this to the thread before it was done. Headlight has now gone back to flickering and the damn humming from hell is even louder. TRS is great consumer service wise but this kit has been a train wreck going on five months now.

If you are using a relay, it might be going bad. Never had a ballast or bulb go bad on any HID kit, even cheap ones, but have had a bunch of relays go bad.

I keep the stick bulbs as well and I put them in with zero issues to the truck like I am currently experiencing ,

I'm considering this because every time I call TRS they want me to switch something around. Instead of warranting the Ballast and igniter, Im having to go through a lot of trouble to get them to fix this. It shouldn't be this hard.

I'm having the same issue on TRS Silverado kit. First off, even with one extension to driver's side, it is not long enough... I had to mount that ballast to the radiator (plastic) overflow. Anyway - lights worked fine until daytime and they flickered while I had DRLs (daytime running lights) on. I contacted them, they said it's an easy fix - the input plug for the capacitor needs to be flipped around. Nothing is easy about getting to your passenger light which is behind the air filter box - especially in the South La. heat.

Anyway, I wanted to follow along to see where this goes.
