Unlocking all doors using key on 2016 Sierra?

I'm wondering if there is a setting I can change to unlock all the doors with the key on my new 2016 Sierra? On my 2007 Sierra I could just use the key (in the door lock) to unlock all the doors by turning it clockwise twice....its a nice feature if you don't like to carry the key fob. With the 2016 it only unlocks the drivers door.

Idk if it would work for the key in the door. But I know there is a setting in my truck when you hit unlock you can set it to unlock just the drivers door, or all the doors. Maybe it would work with the key? But probably not I don't know

I dunno but my horn starts to honk if I use the key to unlock the door until I put it in the ignition.

Same here...seems like an oversight to me that this occurs.

If the security system is armed, it is supposed to chirp when opened with the key. This is a warning that the alarm will go off if in 10 seconds unless either the truck is started or the unlock button on the transmitter is pushed.

(if the truck is locked with the key, the alarm will not be set, and it will then not chirp if unlocked with the key)

I don't know why they couldn't incorporate the key into the fob. It makes for such a bulky key chain.

Same here as well. It's pretty annoying.

I like it with out really. But they should allow either option. I personally like it with out as it makes for a smaller thinner key.

That's good to know.

I believe GM is afraid to have the key in the fob as it may lead to the key coming out. Heck, they have a tiny loop on the ring so you cant fit any other keys on there.

Gun shy I think.

the fob is literally right next to the key. Just hit the unlock button twice....while standing next to the truck. Not that hard.

On the Silverado, there is an option in the vehicle settings on the stereo. I would assume Sierra has the same. I also didn't care for the double tap method and changed it to single.

Edit: Nevermind. Just read you are trying to use the key and not the fob.

Well with my experience it's not just a chirp, the actual alarm goes off immediately and doesn't stop until I put the key in the ignition and crank it or probably at least put it on the run position. Alarm sound and lights flashing, the whole 9 yards. It's almost like they figure you'll always use your key fob and not have to use your key so they made the truck do that figuring it must not be the owner to unlock with the key.
