Help me choose!

I have found two potential trucks, both used and both within $500 of each other.

 

1. 2014 LTZ 4wd Z71 Double cab. Has 10k miles, all terrains on 20" wheels, leather, lane departure warning, cooled seating, etc.

 

2. 2015 LT 4wd Z71 Crew Cab. 16k miles, 17" wheels with stock tires.

 

Seems like you get a lot more going with the 2014 feature-wise, but I'm not sure if the changes made to the 2015's make up for that. I've previously had a crew cab and a double cab... The extra space in the crew cab is nice, but so is that extra bed space in the double!

 

Tough decision!

I'd go with the 2014. Lower miles, a lot more features. It should hold its value better with that equipment. Have you driven them both? Take them each out for a long test drive up to the sustained speeds you normally drive. CarFax on each? Service history?

That's a tough one. Depends on if you are going to have people riding with you a lot or not. If not go with the 2014. Like Shu said lower miles and lot more features.

Some crews have the 6.5' bed. To bad this one doesn't. For me that would be a bigger deal breaker than the trim level.

 

 

 

If you want/need both the crew and the standard (6.5') bed, wait til you find one.

Crew cab will have better resale and if you have another couple in the back seat, they will thank you for getting the Crew.

If you don't have kids/passengers get the '14. More features and a 6.5' bed. That short bed would be a deal breaker for me. If you have kids/passengers keep looking and get a crew with 6.5' bed. Harder to find but well worth it in my opinion.

Yes,I currently have a truck. I've been contemplating getting back into a 4wd truck though after this past weekend, when I got stuck in 2 different places in 2 different days and had to be pulled out by buddies with 4wd.. . places I have parked before and will again, but due to heavy rains it made the ground soft.

I've got a 14 crew cab lt and came from a Colorado crew cab. I bought the crew because I usually drive on hunting trips and thought the other guys would like the extra leg room. My girlfriend has an slt acadia and I am really like the leather. If it were up to me, I'd get the ltz with all the options over having more leg room for other ppl. In the end you will be the one in it the most, might as well have the better options for yourself. If the other hunters did't bitch riding in the Colorado they shouldn't bitch about being in a double cab, and if they do they can start driving themselves.

The Crew Cab and year newer easily trumps the LTZ in my opinion.

I just traded from a 14 double, to a 15 crew. I can say as a tradesman the standard bed of the double was way more convenient than the standard. The extra space in the cab is now full of tools and crap. Its nice as its more secure, but a pain when I need to haul extra people around. Not to mention the dirt and dust associated with that inside the cab sucks a lot... in a new truck to boot.

 

The paint on the 15 seems to scratch when you look at it also.. 14 seemed better to me.

 

6k miles is a consideration, but it would not be a big concern to me having 6 k more if you're going to keep it for a while.

I'd say it about how you use the truck. You seem to say that the differences in body styles are a push. Bigger bed vs extra legroom. If neither is a deal breaker then the LTZs options trump the LT. I've had my LTZ for 2 1/2 years and never had an adult in the back seat, only my grandkids. In my situation the extra leg room of the crew is a waste of money. Your situation is probably different than mine. It's your money and your choice.
