westin 3 inch nerf bars rusting

I haven't had them for a year; i had them added into my truck before I got it. I had my Ram for about a year and a half and they never rusted at all. Those were the 4inch diameter ones. But on these, it almost seems like water has pooled under the front passenger side plastic piece and is rusting. My question is, ultimately: is there ANYTHING I can do to fix this and stop it? I realize that spreads like the plague

I haven't had an issue with mine but I take them off every 6 months to drain the condensation in them. I usually buff them up while they are off.

Man, i literally never thought of that at all. I guess in my mind they were a perfect seal and that wouldn't have been an issue

Mine may be different as they are for a regular cab but there is some plastic plugs on the end cap for draining them when they are off instead of trying to drain them through the bolt holes.
