Engine & Trans Gets Hot

New to this site, I have a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 HD 6.0 Short Bed Crew Cab with 3.73, 4l80, 167K miles. Never have and issues with it and even still have the factory brakes. I changed the radiator last fall and noticed that it was running a little warmer just driving around town, so I checked the coolant and looked for leaks. Still ran hot and I noticed that the trans was running hot also. Check both coolant and trans fulid both was fine. Since the temp was only 15 degrees hotter I just kept my eye on it.

Last weekend I tow a car trailer with maybe 1500 lbs on it climbing from 2000 feet to 6000. Now I really see the temps go up, trans to 235 and engine to 240, never did this, used to run around 160 trans and 160 engine.

The replacement radiator is not a genuine GM part, would that have anything to do with it?

I should have known better, YouTube has everything. I'll check it out this weekend.

I priced them out, dealer at $170.00 or $55.00 at Autozone, Question are these made the same, will AZ part last just as long?

Check Rock Auto. Perhaps get the oem part for much less.

I personally have zero faith in AZ parts.

If the aftermarket is made by Hayden you'll be fine. I prefer OEM from Rockauto $100 or less.
