2016 All Terrain

I'm thinking of swapping my 2016 Silverado Z71 for a 2016 GMC All Terrain. My silverado is 5.3/6 speed and all terrain is 5.3/ 8 speed. The all terrain is much nicer equipped compared to my LT Silverado and really love the upgrade. With the 20% off MSRP sale, I'm pretty set on trading. For those of you with a 2016 all terrain, how do you like it? Also love to hear from those with the 8 speed and 5.3 combo.

6 speed / 8 speed is not big deal. Not worth it unless you are getting the 6.2

I just traded my 2014 GMC Sierra AT yesterday on a 2016 Sierra AT.

I already like the 2016 AT better.

Allot more features are enabled. The 4x4 screen in the DIC and a few other things. The Radio is easier to use and the carplay is great.

Payments even dropped.

Not regretting my decision.

6 speed / 8 speed is not big deal. Not worth it unless you are getting the 6.2

I had the 8 speed in a 2015 silverado 6.2 and wasn't impressed due to clunking. I have 2 locals that claim the 8 speed in their 2016 5.3's is a nice improvement over the 2014 6 speeds they traded off. I'm sure it's subjective, but always interesting to hear different opinions.

my 2016 so far is shifting smoother than the 2014 did. I have 6 speeds in both.

I went from a 2014 5.3L/6Spd Silverado to 2016 5.3L/8Spd Silverado. I personally love the 8 speed compared to the 6. Went from a 3.08 to a 3.42 though, but still a great and noticeable change based on the transmission. Especially if you add a nice exhaust to it.

Well, I made the trade and love the all terrain. The only option I wish it would of offered is cooled seats. Other than that, it's great!

I had a 15 all terrain SLT now a 16 all terrain slt, hands down a better truck. The 8 speed and 5.3 is a big deal, it makes the truck feel much faster and torquey than my 6 speed 5.3. Has an occasional funky shift from 2-1 but that's my main gripe

I agree. The 5.3/8 speed is a definite upgrade IMO. I've stated before of having a 14 and 16 silverado with the 5.3/6 speed. This 5.3/8 speed combo is just fun to drive. It feels to accelerate quicker and no flat spots like the 14/16 I had.

Agree, it really takes off right at 1/4 throttle for me, and this truck is getting average 5mpg better than my 15. Pretty wild. It is really fun to drive but every once in a while it just has a slow sluggish down shift into 1st when coming to a stop. Other than that no clunks, can't even feel it as its shifting and it's seamless.
