Vehicle : 2016 Crew Cab LTZ 1LZ

Miles : 7000

Problem :
While driving on the Highway, a whistling noise can be herd coming from the dash area . This happens between 65-75 mph . The sound can only be herd when the a/c is on . Sometimes it can be herd when pulling outside air , but it mostly occurs while on re-circulate .

The truck is currently at the dealership and has been for about a week . So far they have completely replaced the front windshield , and are now removing the entire dash for further inspection .

Has anyone experienced this , and or can possibly point me into a positive direction . Getting tired of the loaner vehicle and would really like my vehicle back .

My 14 does this as well.....3 recalls to date and it has less than 20K miles.

thats crazy ...

truck is still in the shop . was told they have no idea whats causing the noise .

My 14 does it when my wife closes the far right side vent. Since the vents dont close air tight the air still pushes through the tight space and whistles. It has to be a duct issue, either a vent is sticking or maybe the plastic in a duct has an imperfection that is causing the high velocity air to "whistle". Possibly a blend door getting stuck too.

all vents are wide opened .. my guess is the blend door . hopefully i should know something this week ... tired of my malibu rental

Could it be crappy workmanship?

I wonder if its the same thing as my mothers Impala had.

It whistled from they day she bought it in 2013 until the beginning of this year when a bar code label came flying out in chunks.

Now it sounds normal excepts spits out little chunks every now and then.

I think the part label was near a two connecting part and got folded into the air flow path.

So it whistled until it broke off.

update : truck is still in the shop . they have replaced all door seals and completely replaced the blower housing . the whistling noise has now changed pitch but is still present . supposedly they have a master mechanic for GM that will be coming in this week to check it out . really hoping they can fix the issue .. really don't want to go through the hassle of swapping vehicles .

the dealership told me if they could light a candle in it and let it burn to the ground they would ..

they did offer to pay 2x months of truck note .

My new 2016 Yukon XL does the same thing. So did the 2013 Ford Raptor it replaced. I just turn up the radio. :-) I don't like the idea of them ripping apart the whole truck to find the cause (blend door is my guess).
