My first mod. Not a big fan of chrome so, off they went. Also, over time they get hard to clean behind the letters unless you take a toothbrush and clean them that way.

Next, is a complete wax and grease remover with a really good wax job. :D

Love that clean tailgate. I have been thinking about removing that big "GMC" but I have no clue how. How did you go about removing?

First mod I did with mine was to remove the tailgate GMC logo, then on the new truck I removed the lower chrome door trim as well.

I de-badged my signature truck about 10 days after I got her. Took off 3 "silverados", 1 dealer sticker, 2 4x4 stickers, and 2 dealer license plate holders. I left the bow tie on the tale gate as it contrasts well with the graphite color of the truck.

Looks great man. Did you use an eraser wheel or your thumb?

Also, you going to leave the bumper guard on the doors? I'm thinking about stripping mine.

I wish GM had continued the monochromatic scheme on the All Terrain package, I would have left mine. I just hated the chrome on the doors, looks out of place. I put color matching door handles on last week. Next up will be the mirror caps and then to black out the window trim and then all of the chrome will be gone off of my truck.

Buy 25bls. fishing line. $1.84 and walmart Cut a 3 foot section and wrap both end around a finger or hand. Leave about a 1 foot gap between each hand. Place the fishing line behind the badge and use a sawing action. Don't pull very hard, just let the line do the work. Be careful not to over heat the line or it will just break in half. If it gets stuck, back out and try again. If so, just unwind from either hand start over. I noticed if you let the line to get just warm enough it will cut the best. Do this in the sunlight or if you have a heat gun, just warm up the badge a bit. If you live in a cold region, heat it up or you will play hell trying to cut it. Now comes the fun part. The sticky sh*t left behind. I used my thumb but I would highly recommend the 3m rubber wheel. Buy 2. the Big GMC logo is huge!!!! I've done this so many times with my thumb on all my past cars and trucks and never bought the rubber wheel. It hurts after a while, All the pain is worth it. lol

I found a video I use a long time ago

These are the rubber wheels i was talking about. It won't scratch your paint if you wash the car or truck first. Don't lay into the into it, just let the wheel do its job.

AND PLEASE WASH IT FIRST, unless you truely don't care. I just bought my truch this past sunday so I care very much.

Hope this helps.

I gave my truck a Thumb job. lol

The bumper guards might go. I don't know just yet. At least its white. If it was chrome, that sh*t would have been off by now. haha

I agree but I hate having to scrub the letters and you really never can clean well between the letters.

I feel you. Mine are black (thank god) but I'm thinking about pulling them this weekend. I like the clean look so much better. I bet as soon as I strip and clean the truck it gets dinged in a week.

Yep, same here. GMC logo on the front, All Terrain on the doors and the small Sierra on the rear tailgate only. No door trim at all. I love the look, very clean and smooth. Easy to keep clean as well and wax without having to clean the edges of the door trim.

One wheel will last you a long time ( 50 emblems worth )....they are not very cheap also.

Did mine a few months back along with door emblems. So much cleaner looking!! I also have a white truck. Cleaning in between those letters are horrible. Looks good though!!

    • My truck is a ¾ ton but my placard also says 80 for the rear tires, I think I might have the upgraded suspension to the 3500 series maybe.   I put my air down to 60 and the light was still on, and there was no way I was putting over 60 psi in the rear empty and not towing because I knew the actual number Toyo gave me and I didn't wanna ruin the center of my tires!   And you actually can change it in the settings from metric or is and it will show kph or mph then when you go into your tire settings it will be either psi or kpa, but it would be nice to just change it directly on the tire psi page
    • Common Sense Assembly   Your driveline is forgiving of the occasional mistake. It will even often forgive the random serious blunder. But it will not forgive a continuous bad habit.      What? Not everything needs to be a five thousand word essay.
    • We drove about 15 minute east today to visit a friend and saw a steep increase in price in the same county. About 50 cents a gallon steepper.
    • Sure about that? A degree wheel and a dial indicator would lower your degree of assurance in that statement. 😉    It why we have offset keys and dialable timing sprockets. Just say'n.... I've built a few and have never seen one "On the money".
    • I will admit I haven't experimented much with pressure drops beyond the numbers I put in and part of that is that the numbers I used are fairly low and then found out it would trigger regardless at that 35 psi. Having said that I had tried before had changed the placard pressures and being that I have a 1 ton set to 80 on the placard for the rear I believe it triggered close to 60, the front I don't recall now for sure but thought maybe it could get close to 45 from that factory 60 placard pressure. So I never did figure out if it was a number of psi from placard pressure to the alarm or a percentage of the total placard number as some figured it was like a 25% drop from placard pressure would trigger it. So as to try and answer your question, I believe I set the placard pressure on the front to 47 or so and while I run the front tires at 40, they have dipped below that some if its colder and I haven't put "winter air" in yet and never once have had the front alarm go off. I would say that the answer your looking for is no, that if you set your placard pressure to 45, you have a certain amount of room to drop below that pressure before the alarm will go off.    The pressures you decide to run in your truck, that ends up being what makes sense to you based on what your carrying in your truck or if towing, then have to bump them back up to something that will carry the load in the rear and the fronts typically left at the same pressure. It all comes down to that chart I put the link to and using an accurate roadside scale to be your guide, both unloaded and then loaded to know your minimum safe pressures.    I just wish GM would allow a person to change the readings for the tire pressures to the English system of pounds as I have to look at that goofy metric reading that will never ever jive in my head and will go over and change it just to figure out what they are if need be and then change it back.
