lie-O-meters LOL just wait I am going to figure out a way to get a pure 99 mpg showing on my lie-O-meter and POST it.

This will be the News Headline 2016 420hp Sierra gets 99mpg. Manufacturers caught withholding gas saving technology, proven when a regular production truck slipped out of the factory with high fuel mileage technology. Oil stocks take a huge plunge and fears of a imminent global financial collapse are predicted

Someone needs to start a thread, the worst gas milage vehicle I ever owned. Mine was I believe a 77 ford 1/2 ton 460, C-6 trans 410 rear 8 miles per gallon empty. Car was 383 road runner 12 mile per gallon.

Fuel consumption thread? '69 Chevelle I built. 540", just over 700HP. 3.42 gears. About 6-8 mpg cruising (or on the highway, made no difference). Most of the time, was lucky to get 4-5 mpg average (let's just say I had a heavy foot).

On another note, my '05 Avalanche was a fuel guzzler, 5.3" with 4.10 gears. Rated 14/17, was closer to 12/15 most of the time.

Turrible Mileage Just turrible. Someone else here stated earlier in the thread that there is something wrong with the OP's truck (stuck in 4whl drive/Brakes dragging/Trans bound up/rear end partially locked up etc) or maybe he is just a very very bad driver, continuously flooring the gas and then hitting the brakes hard? I have an older neighbor lady that drives that way she will hit the gas then the brakes over and over and over, nobody will ride with her as they get motion sickness. Currently has a Newer Toyota fuel miser car that is rated over 35mpg but currently gets below 20mpg with her driving it. I could most likely get 40 out of the yota if I were driving it LOL

This is mostly city driving with a lot of remote start cooldowns and pulled a enclosed trailer on several weekends. (Notice the low average speed) Will easily get over 23 mpg on the highway even running over 80mph. GM has done a great job with these trucks overall on gas mileage. When you can take a 5800lb 4x4 420 hp beast and get over 20mpg under all conditions you have done your homework and are truly professional grade haha. (Yes too can play at this tongue in cheek game)

Worst mileage to date.....................16.8mpg hand calculated.

Only 516 miles on the tank of fuel when I had to fuel up today. Now granted; probably 2/3rds of this tank were towing around suburbia, but still this sucks. The Lie-O-Meter in the dash said I should be getting at least 17.2mpg on this tank............WTF???

I just don't know what to think here..................the sticker said 19-23mpg IIRC. I may just trade this lemon.

A man after my own heart! My '69 4-speed 383 RR got 12 mpg from the day she was new, but only on the highway. Between stop lights she got somewhat less
