There is a small tool that can gauge if you need tires or not. Every dealer has it. I would try that first.

I would for sure be reading my lease from start to finish and be getting myself this tread depth indicator

for like 3 bucks so they do not bully you into paying for new tires.

Now if I were the lease company I would want my vehicle returned with new tires on it just as it left LOL or the lessee would pay big bucks....

When I returned my 2011 GMC the goodyear LS2's only had 20% left and they said that was the limit.

Whats 20% i have tread measuring tool is it 2/32?

You'll probably need to get tires. The normal point for replacement is 4/32. You'd be best off to find cheapest tire possible if turning it in versus taking the hit.

I have a lease protection plan that covers $5000 in damages, etc. - maybe a good idea if you are leasing again.

I agree getting the lease tire/rim protection package is well worth it .

I can return my wheels damaged and tires bald

I just returned an ATS that had a little/moderate scrape on the front corner, a moderate dent plus broken marker light where someone backed into me and several marks on the rims due to very low profile tires combined with ridiculous Buffalo winters and craters in the roads.....was afraid I was going to get quite a bill, but didn't get anything. Otherwise the car was flawless though and only had 25K on it.

I've already accepted that I'll probably be buying tires for my Sierra....I'm highly doubting the LS2 will last 39 months....
