Wheel style

Does anyone else here feel that it is time for a new wheel design? At least have a better selection in the wheel option department. I say GM needs to get a contract with some of these aftermarket people like Weld Wheels and let them make available to us when we order a truck to be able to upgrade to a specific design.

Anyone else have any ideas?

With the little tires that come one them they don't look that great, but with a nice set of tires they are the best looking wheels you can get from the factory. Atleast I think so.

I kind of like the steel wheels, but the aluminum ones are getting kind of old. Honestly I never really liked the alunimum wheels on the Silverado. The ones on the GMCs look OK though. I think they should join up with Weld or a similar company kind of like Ford has done with Alcoa. Considering the number of GM trucks with aftermarket wheels I see, it could be very profitable for both companies.

I really like the stock aluminum rims that came on my 03 2500 HD. Like someone else pointed out they are easy to clean and I thinl they look really sharp I do think they could be a little wider to accomodate the 285s.

Actually, the wheel contracts are with many of the major wheel maufacturers out there. Just most of the time, the wheel manufacturer does not put their own names on them. The only problem with too many variations is that the volumes are split between all the different styles offered. This drive the cost of the wheels up and ultimately less profit.

I like the stock aluminum wheels. It doesn't get much easier than cleaning a clearcoated aluminum wheel.

If and when I ever change my wheels, I'm going with some American Racing Outlaw II's. I've always liked those wheels on a truck. My wife calls them "old man wheels".:thumbs:

Im kinda partial to the Xtreme rims on my 03 Xtreme. I think the stockers look nice enought though. My problem with some of the aftermarket companies is that they have too many "Bling bling" designs out there. Most of them are gaudy and overpriced. Take the Jesse James designed rims for instance, IMHO they all look like garbage and they are waaaaaay overpriced.

Personally Im wishing GM would change the dash layouts in their fullsize trucks first, they are a lil too, well Blaaaaaaa. Need some sprucing up. Perhaps make a bigger version of the current S-10 dash, I love that one.
