Tinted amber headlight reflectors?

Has anyone removed their amber reflectors and tinted them? I'm just curious because I've been thinking about doing it but wanted to see how they turned out. Everything else besides the handles, mirror caps and trim is black on my truck so I thought it would be a nice touch

I personally would remove them and run amber led blubs looks much cleaner imo.c804724aa20fc24cb88f5a3af35daa2c.jpg

So you just removed them completely?

Remove them and replace with a clear lens. As long as you use an amber bulb and still have an amber reflector (for when it's parked) it's street legal. The bad thing about these headlights like some previous ones, is that you have to bake them to open them up in order to replace the lens. Tinting them wouldn't be legal and I think about getting caught and having to undo that work so might as well keep it legal to begin with. I thought about putting clear corner lenses on my '14 since I had them on my old '98, but it's more work to it and you'd have to reseal it. Maybe I shouldn't say it's more work, but it's different. It's not just unbolting and taking screws out like it was on my '98. So I think I'm going to leave them alone especially since they don't look ugly on these K2 trucks like they use to on previous gens. At least they're not as ugly.

Yes I took them out completely and used amber led blubs. They are kinda a pia to get open but look so good without them. Before204edb6c716a68a881ebd772ffc25c94.jpg

In some states like California it is illegal not having the reflector. if you wanted tinted or clear reflectors you can get these! http://klearz.com/products/chevrolet/14-15_silverado_headlight_markers

You need amber reflector. Even with those clear you are suppose to technically have these. http://klearz.com/yellow-reflective-tape

It is not state by state either but federal DOT FMVSS Article 108 mandated. Even my spiffy aftermarket lamps with clear turn signals have a small amber reflector to be DOT certified. The regulations are laughably outdated considering new technologies I imagine it would be complete chaos if each state tried to set their own.
