My 2016 Silverado LS budget build..

Recommended Posts

Posted

Bought this truck new in May.. Knew at the time that I loved the new Silverado's, but I couldn't afford a loaded out edition, since I was going to lose out big time on a divorce trade in..

I have been doing my research and knew I wanted a unique truck and the old plane Jane LS truck wasn't what I wanted to keep around..

The build started with tint, mainly because of major headaches when riding in a vehicle without it.. Cost $100

Next was the Rough Country 2" front only leveling kit.. Cost $49

After that, I decided to put a couple eBay stickers on the hood to make a little more "my own".. Cost $10

Decided she needed more chrome, so I went to eBay for door and mirror covers.. Cost $49

Then, I kept my eyes out on local social media for tires and rims.. The 17" steel rims just weren't cutting it at all! I knew some stock 20's would come around because all these rich high school kids around here just have to have them some Fuels or American Forces!

Low and behold, one day I get a message from a guy on Instagram and he tells me he has a set of stock GM wheels and 35 12.50 20 tires that he is going to sell because he got American Force wheels.. When he told me what he would take, I knew I had to jump on it! After some negotiation,, Cost $700

Had the tire pressure monitors that were already in the tires reset for my truck.. Cost $Free

I have a set of Chrome Tow Hooks that my dad took off of a 2013 GMC that I plan to put on, just haven't had time.. They seem to match up..

Total Cost Thus far....... $908,,, But who's counting!?

All I have left to do is get rid of the big ole foglightless bumper.. Plan to replace it with a Warn bumper with Rigid lights and Winch (Not going to be so "Budget" anymore).. It will come in time..

I have done all the labor myself, which has saved a lot of money too..

Thanks for looking!

so what is a 100 dollar tent and you really fit 35;s on a 2 inch level?

I believe he meant tint. Though there is an option for a tent that sets up in the bed.

No way anyone is fitting 35 x 12.5 on a level. You would have to break out a saw and cut your fenders up horribly. Those tires are like 295x55 which is not even close to 35. Those are also not stock rims, replica maybe but dont look like any stock ones I have seen nor do they even have a logo. Never seen a stock rim with no logo like ever. Maybe he thought he would be cooler with 35x12.5's but if that is the case he walked into the wrong neighborhood as we know they would never fit, max on a level is 33x10 and even that requires minimal trimming / ziptie the wheel well. .

They look like the SEY GM Accessories wheels, but those are only available as 22's, IIRC.

You can buy center caps without a logo, that doesn't mean they aren't OEM wheels.

Man you guys are being rough on him... I've seen plenty of people (even those on here) putting on 35s with just a level, doesn't mean it don't rub like hell lol. And the wheels are most likely reps but who cares?

To the OP, Truck looks good!

1- Sorry about the spelling, I corrected it..

2- Sorry your an idiot..

3- 2" RC, is the ONLY thing that has been done to my suspension..

4- Blank center caps can be acquired..

5- They may be replicas, I honestly haven't cared enough to investigate.. The guy I bought from, got the truck from a dealer, with these rims already installed..

6- Minimal rubbing on the carpet fender liner is all, no where near the need of metal trimming..

7- If you need anymore pictures to prove how much of an idiot you are, I am your huckleberry..

wow you have tender feelings, I'll chalk it up to your current marital issues, a shame because I thought this might be a good build to watch lol.

Congrats but as I said without slcing up your fender horribly...... as you did it is called a Norcal mod. IMO slicing up a truck to throw on a set of used $700 set of ebay special is bat shit crazy. To each thier own and go your own way and all of that. Please do not come here and say no metal trimming when there clearly was.

Norcal mod is when you cut the inner fender, not the bumper as you're suggesting by your picture. It doesn't look like he's cut the bumper either though.

Bumper looks stock. Offset is key guys. Lots of people have tucked 35x12.5 on stock offset with 2-3" level. Guaranteed there is some rubbing, more than anyone will admit.

Try a full lock turn in reverse faster than a snails pace and have some fun!

Why would he lie about something like fitting tires? and if your going to try to prove something considering angles and angular measurements with a photo it doesn't help your case to have said photo at an different angle than the original......

To the OP, I do like those rims, I'm looking for a set for my rig, looks killer.

Your more of an idiot than I initially thought.. No trimming has been done to my truck..

I do plan to down size when these tires wear.. 285/65/20 a/t's are what I am eyeballing..

Are you high or just menatlly handicapped? We have known for a LONG damn time that 35's will not fit a level without trimming. Period, did you think we are new at this or something?

Its so glaringly obvious the front fender and bumper and airdam were all trimmed just like this ....

If you genuinely did not know it was cut you better check with the shop that installed it, because they sure as **** sliced it up just FYI!
