Currently in between trucks. Totaled my 03 Silverado on 9/27/16. It was a good truck. Looking for my next one. Hoping to find a 02-07 GM truck. I've had 3 so far - 02 Silverado ECSB 2wd, 04 Silverado ECSB Z71, and the last one was an 03 Silverado ECSB 2wd. I dabble in car audio. I'd modified all of my trucks to fit 6.5 inch speakers in the rear extended cab doors.

I'm always looking for new information on these trucks. Thanks for looking.

Welcome from another NCer. We're actually not too far, go up I-95 and I'm about 10 miles from the VA line lol. I myself got into an accident on Monday, but luckily it wasn't my fault and was just a fender bender and should only need a rear fender and bumper.

This is my 3rd Silverado, but I took a lot bigger jumps than you did. '86 C10 manual to a '98 Z71 and now the '14 LT Z71.

I'd left some stuff out of first post. I'm 46 and originally from Indiana. I'm a Service Engineer for a forklift manufacturer, basically a factory troubleshooter. Been with the company 21 years and 4 locations; every move has been to a warmer climate. Married 8 years, no kids except a Shih Tzu. Over the years I've worked on semis, cars & trucks, street rods, muscle cars, 4x4s, and now forklifts.

My first Chevy truck was a 1987 Custom Deluxe 1/2 ton 4/4 that I got around 1996. TB 305, 4 inch lift, 33's, push bar, 8 inch extended front brake lines, & Offroad Design's sway bar disconnects. I installed buckets / center console from a 91 Suburban. It was a mix of pickup, crew cab, blazer, & suburban parts. Even had a 94 chevy rear step bumper and a brake pedal pad from a 78 Cadillac. It'd gone through 3 exhaust systems (muffler, then cat back, finally headers & Flowmasters), several stages of stereo systems, 5 front bumpers, 4 rear bumpers. It was a fun truck to work on & hated to see it go, but next truck happened to be the 02 Silverado.

I stick with full size trucks without sunroof since they give me plenty of legroom and headroom. I'm 6 foot 7 inches so anything smaller just doesn't feel right. Entertained the idea of getting a compact car so that I could rip the front seats out and sit in the back.

Welcome!

Sorry to hear that you totaled your truck. The GMT800 platform is a solid one for sure. Hoping to keep mine for a long time.

My daughter is up there going to ECU. Greenville is a cool place.

I'm from Fayetteville, my wife went to ECU, currently in Colorado, but enjoy it! And please ignore those squat guys

Colorado, oh the joy of thin air and snow. :)

I've been in Greenville now for 2 years. Previously was just south of Lexington, Kentucky.

I found an 04 silverado with the sport red metallic paint. Any idea what color the interior usually is with the red?

finally got a picture of the truck I'm looking at and it has the tan interior. 4.8L.

Not sure you're going to like the 4.8. The 4.8 in my buddie's new too him '11 Sierra seems gutless and it has the 3.42 gears. I believe I read on here that some people say the 4.3 V6 in the K2 trucks ('14+) feel better than the 4.8 V8s.

I'd driven a standard cab step side with the 4.8L before and thought it had decent power. I'm not sure about how it will do in an extended cab short bed. Will have to wait until Matthew leaves the area before I can get a test drive in.
