I have almost worn out the stock tires on my truck and want a good AT tire either in a 265 70 18 ( 32.5 x 10.5 ) or a 275 70 18 ( 33 x 10.8 ) any One have any suggestions on what is the best without going over board

I recently put on 275/70/18 hankook dynapro at-m. They have been great so far. I've taken them through mud, gravel, rocks, dirt, hills and lots of backroad country hunting trails. They have worked flawlessly. I wish they were more aggressive looking, but that is simply for aesthetic purposes. Overall they are a fantastic tire and priced very well.

I have heard great things about the new Falken Wildpeak At3w's. They look pretty good, and in a 275/70/18 they are a steal from discount tire direct. If you want a more proven tire that has been out for a while, I would recommend the Toyo At2's, but they are much more expensive than the Falkens.

Thanks I have also been looking at the general grabber at2 in the 265 70 they have pretty deep tread just have not heard any thing about them

I'll be upgrading to the BFG KO2 in the 275/70/18 size @ 40k miles. It's a 10-ply E-rated tire, tad bit heavier. But is a true 33"

What's the best? The hardest question to answer in any of the other dozens of threads asking the same question. So much personal opinion and many variables. What's most important? Longevity? Looks? Off road traction? Street driving manners? Quietness? Ect...

The grabbers are a great tire (16/32 tread depth in P rated too), many good reviews on them for a much cheaper price then a BFG and they are studdable and snow rated in many sizes. Cooper AT3 is a great tire too and has one some comparison tests for all around ability on and off road. The ATM's I have heard good things about too as well as the Toyo's (though as noted are expensive almost like the BFG's). Falkens are a new tire I am hearing some good things about but they are more aggressive and a hybrid (think duratracs or cooper pros) not an all terrain.

All depends on what you are looking for, search, there is tons of good info and opinions out there. Also check out other forums when you good search, they help give good ideas too...

An E-rated tire isn't a tad bit heavier than stock it is quite a bit and will have a hit on mpg and performance. Stick with LT C rated or P rated if you aren't towing often near your max or off roading a ton in rough areas prone to flats regularly, your daily drive routes and passengers will thank you.
