Has anyone had this happen?

So I get in my truck as usual and get to going down the road and as I try to click through the favorites it says "no favorites available" as you will see in the video, so I just did it manually, no big deal. Anyways I'm driving and it gets dark and it occurs to me that the steering wheel isn't lit up, all the buttons work but no lights. And on the volume it doesn't show it going up or down, it says it's all the way down, however I noticed it will turn down but not back up. I turned the truck off and back on and nothing, so I'm gunna let it sit over night and think about how irritated it's made me but has anyone else experienced this?

I haven't experienced anything like this on my vehicle but it certainly sounds like a software issue. Do you still have warranty? I would just take it to a GM service center as they probably are the only places that have the equipment to make such repairs.

I'm kinda surprised that there aren't more computer/software issues than there already are. We're driving around in mobile PCs for Pete's sake. The other day i was backing out of the driveway, and when my back up camera engaged, I had a green screen on my display. Still had the lines on the screen but it had gone completely green. Next time I put it in reverse, it worked normally. Not a glitch since. Go figure.

"no favorites available" used to happen in my old 2014... not sure it has happened in my new 2016. As for the lights... never had that happen.

Replace the battery that is what a buddys of mines truck needed to cure the electrical demons, seems that his battery had a dead cell. Buy the best battery that you can afford (aka not the cheap chit)

On the backup camera the screen will turn green occasionally when sunlight hits the camera directly at a certain angle. It is Normal man LOL

That's what I thought too, but it happened at 5AM, no sun, no other light around. Like I said, no biggie, it hasn't happened since.

Might have thrown it into reverse too quickly after starting and the electronics have not fully booted up. Happened to my Avalanches w/Nav and the Silverado w/Nav. The screen comes on (green glow at night) but the camera and/or lines haven't registered yet......sometimes nothing, sometimes a camera with no lines.....tried again a few seconds later and OK.

I have found that treating your car like a PC and just shutting it down and restarting fixes most stuff like this.

I agree with the re-boot strategy. With a brand new vehicle, I always report inconsistencies to my dealer in case there is a failure later. The OP"s vehicle is out of warranty so I might hesitate to go for a potentially expensive and unnecessary repair!

had both issues, radio and door chime, in my 2014 along with some other electrical gremlins. had the battery replaced under warranty and most of the little issues went away. I guess the factory batteries have a life span of around 3 years and if there is any strange current many things go hay wire. none so far in the 2016.

These batteries suck. I've had my truck for 13 months and it probably sat on the lot for 6 months before that and I'm getting a warranty battery tomorrow. Under 2 years is way to quick for a battery to die. I've had to jump start it 3 times in the last 10 days.
