steering wheel vs. no steering wheel cover

What is everybody's preference? I had a steering wheel cover for a while. I liked it at first, but for some reason I just got tired of it. It seemed secure on the steering wheel, but subconsciously i felt that it wasn't and eventually took it off. I actually like the feel without it. How about you guys?

I've always had a cover. I'd rather touch a cover with dirty or greasy hands than the actual wheel. Plus it's a lot cheaper to buy another $10 cover every 3-4 years or more than have the wheel itself wear. Also I got used to them enough to where a wheel feels a little small without one and my hands aren't even that big.

If your purpose for a cover is to protect your steering wheel, then I think it is unnecessary. If it is for looks or feel then they are fine. A friend of my fathers used to keep the plastic wrap on his new Cadillacs' seats for improved resale! He bought cars with beautiful upholstery and he sat on plastic wrap! Any wear you put on your steering wheel will be appropriate for the age of your vehicle when you sell.

Don: Yeah, the initial reasoning behind me buying the steering wheel cover was to "protect" the steering wheel; when I had my Silverado i eventually placed a cover on it because some of the wheel was becoming "smoothe" from wear and I was so ocd about it that I bought a cover. Then I grew tired of it and took it off lol

I use one of those somewhat furry ones. It gets cold up here in Canada. -35 to -40. Use it year round. I like it. Bought it on eBay. 3 bucks shipped to my door. Couldn't find the one I wanted here.
