Steering Wheel Vibration normal?

Recommended Posts

As some of you know, I have the Chevy shake issue. I also have steering wheel vibration issues. It's minor but it's still freaking annoying.

My question is, is it normal to have some steering wheel vibration on these trucks? Because if all the Silverados have them, then I won't bother having the dealership look at it.

Thanks in advance

Nope, my '14 is vibration free everywhere, even at 98 mph.

Thanks for the reply. I'm taking my truck to a driveline shop to have the driveshaft checked to see if it'll fix the Chevy shake issue. If it is the driveshaft that's out of balance, could it be causing some minor vibrations at the steering wheel?

I feel the road through mine or its the vibration? Not sure...guess I should maybe test drive another truck. Mine is not 100% smooth, believe it's just the road I'm feeling.

I've driven on some bad roads and mine doesn't vibrate. Neither did my '98 or even my '86. Hell even on gravel or dirt roads it doesn't vibrate no matter the speed I'm going. I could go 10 mph or 70 mph and no vibration in the wheel.

Thanks for the input guys. Wondering if it's a balance or tire issues, or if it is my driveshaft that's out of wack, if that could cause felt vibrations on the steering wheel also.

My 15 has a rhythmic steering wheel vibration coming and going between 45 and 70 mph only after the truck warms up and only running at a steady speed. New torque converter being installed today
